The talk is three are gone. Plus talking to players, they say they are leaving also..

If Coach leaves for something better that is fine. If he takes some assistants with him that is fine. I am all for anyone improving themselves. As far as players saying they will leave, that is fine also. We all know these are young kids and would be upset to lose the only coach they know. Also, there is a lot more to "leaving" than just getting up one morning and say, "well I am going to another school today." Let no one fool you, Smith County is a VERY, VERY ATTRACTIVE job. I personally know several very good coaches who have been watching the situation here in Carthage for a few years, hearing that Coach might leave. Trust me, getting a QUALITY coach is not a problem. SC's reputation, facilities, community support, school support and 90 plus players out for football is unheard of in many communities. As for assistants leaving also, fine as they feel they are improving their situation also. What this does is allow the new coach to bring assistant(s) with him and make this hire even more attractive. If Coach(s) leave, good luck to each and we will move forward with new blood. The sky is not going to fall if we make a coaching change

LOL!!!!

    • Yes region 1 is extremely weak but a # 5 seed out of region 2 has no business in the playoffs either.
    • They've had some great talent over the years. They usually don't whip no one but can be tough to stop on offence.
    • Could be a lot of reason from what I’ve seen so far.  The lights wouldn’t turn on at Smyrna last night and had to move games to Blackman could be a reason or maybe he is talking about how on some of the games on NFHS network the camera placement was absolutely asinine. ( had a camera set up right in front of a net and couldn’t see crap)
    • If Gordonsville can manage getting through these next 2 games without using him it will be ideal. ER was the last team to not have to pitch their #1 till the state championship i believe. Worked out well for them but they also had one of the best 1A staffs of all time that year. Only allowed one run the whole tournament and it was in the 7th inning.
    • And he’s not even their #1. Lights out performance. Gordonsville is in the drivers seat with their #1 arm available throughout the tournament.
