I think that is a false rumor. Spencer is definitely playing. The transfer is from Kansas, back up qb this year at Waverly. He is about 6'2, no clue how well he can pitch. The senior is Mullinax unless something has changed.

I'm glad to hear that. I think it is awful when coaches tell kids they can't play other sports. Spencer is a good baseball player and definitely solid up the middle for them. Mullinax was a pretty good baseball player up until he went basketball only. He could add some depth to their pitching staff if he can dial it back in on the mound. If Coach Cash could get J'Honathan Smith to come out he would have another good pitcher.

We all wish J'Honathan would play, he was in the low 80's as an 8th grader. He seems to want to focus on basketball though. Mullinax can hit as well, remember him going 3-3 with two doubles off the fence at MC his freshman year in the play-in game.

Harpeth beat E. Hickman on Saturday 12-0. Lost to Ensworth Wed. night 8-1.

We will now get the basketball players starting today which should help fill some holes in the line up. Really looking forward to seeing some of these guys play this year. Ethan Hurt may be the best OF in the District and should produce big at the plate after playing a really competitive summer last year. Pitching has been a bit suspect, lots of arms and no Aces, ptichers will have to trust their defense and throw strikes.

Sounds like a good year to appreciate the BBCOR bats!

Creek Wood opened with Northeast Monday. The young team from CW got the pleasure of facing APSU signee Levi Primasing and he showed why The Gov's signed him. Very good fastball and nasty breaking stuff! Looked more like mid season stuff than opening night! The youngsters from CW struggled.

Last night against Northwest CW got behind early giving up several walks and NW got a couple of timely hits to stake a big lead. But CW battled back only to lose in 8. CW left a runner at 3rd in the 6th and wasted a lead off double in the 8th. Great come back though for a young CW team

Thanks guys. Keep us updated. It's typically only Creek Wood, Central and Harpeth that do much posting during baseball season with some Waverly mixed in every now and then. Cheatham's still got a baseball coach don't they? Wild week. Hope everyone has a good baseball season. I'll trapse up to The Rock when it's not hog killin' weather and catch some innings here and there.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
