Mitchell VS CPA Who wins and why?

It will be a good game. They all are at this point and there will be some upsets. I remember last year, like this year, CPA had not lost to a team from TN., had a very similar record, won the Bluegrass tourney, and lost in another top rated Holiday tourney, and people were saying they were not convinced. So what happened? - they won every state tourney game by double digits.

They are not as strong as last year, IMO, simply because their guard play is not as good; however, they are stronger up front and the best AA team, and it will take a real effort to put them out. Mitchell, or any of the final 8 could do it, but won't be easy.

I'm not drinking the CPA juice.......Mitchell will win this game.

If memory serve me correctly, you weren't drinking it last year either strongly predicting Liberty would be taking home the gold ball. How many high major Division I prospects does Mitchell have on their team? If not at least two you may want to change your beverage selection.

I put my bucks on Memphis teams any day...

Sure, when Memphis had the most talent, but not necessarily the case anymore. With the shift in talent level, I'd be willing to take that bet. Understanding that all bets have risk, though I believe this one has minimal risk for those "betting" on CPA.

This will be an intriguing matchup. From what I hear, CPA's weakness is there guard play and from what I know Mitchell's strength is at the guard spot.

Mitchell is a hard nose defensive team with a high major presence in Spencer at the 3 position.

I'm really looking forward to the matchup.

Neb, here is your quote from March 12, 2012 before CPA rolled through the tourney:

"I see you are drinking the CPA Kool Aid as well. If they looked that awesome, what are you use to watching?"

You were picking Liberty to beat Mitchell at that time. How'd that work for you? At least you are consistent with your Koo Aid analogy.

Let me clarify my analysis about CPA's guard play. They are not weak, they just don't have as much depth there as they did last year with Bradshaw, Bonds, and Wharton. But they are still VERY good. Bonds is very underrated, and Blackwell, at 6'6" handles the ball as well as most point guards.

I stand by what I said, Mitchell wins. I was wrong last year, So! I'll be wrong again, just not this time. Memphis still has the most talent by far. CPA had the better team last year. Edited by nebuntyn

I stand by what I said. We are not talking about last year. I don't take these posts personal, like some people do.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
