I had heard that Melton was interested in Pickett, and that they were also interested in someone who's name I can't recall but I think they still have Moons. I also heard that Flynn was retiring. Don't know how much truth there is to any of it.

Last I heard, Flynn is still up in the air, but I think he is leaning toward stepping down. That is just speculation, he has not announced.

I'd say Martin is eyeing the Cookeville job if that rumor is true about it coming open (that would make sense location wise). Melton leaving would not be to surprising although I have not heard that (still in the UC and probably better chance to win year in and year out, plus closer to Livingston). Heard something about Flynn stepping down so maybe that is possible (why would he be stepping down?).

From what I have been told about Flynn, It all comes down to his convenience store. He owns the store next to the closed down liquor store at the bottom of the hill. He has been trying to sell it for some time, and if he does end up selling it, he may come back. I know he for sure wanted to coach till his son graduated, which he does this year.

I'd be shocked if Bray left this year. His daughter will be a senior & is a basketball cheerleader. He'll stay at least 1 more year. That being said, I wish he'd leave now. Could have gone much further this year with a better coach. Hope they stay in the program and promote Josh Heard to head coach. He deserves the chance, players believe in him and he makes them better.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
