Webb had a tough loss to Maryville last night. Was just out-manned and had too many missed opportunities. How did Baylor look last night??

I'm loving the optimism Big. Back in the "old days" (read that as pre DII), Baylor was great contest. I have a lot of respect. Will be interested to see how Spartans will prepare this week after last night's loss.

Baylor won 46-8.  Sonny Moore Power rankings have Baylor 138 Grade (10th in the state) / Webb 129 Grade (30th in the state).  Should be a good matchup.

On a side note, it would be interesting to see the Sonny Moore algorithm. Wonder how they will rate the teams post Week 0 and the respecitve narrowing/widening of the spread between Webb and Baylor? Sure a loss is killer regardless of the Rebels #2 preseason ranking, but a win over #181 ranked Soddy Daisy cant be that helpful.

I don't know ... Siegel - riverdale and Mus ( 4,5,6 ) all three were destroyed Friday night so not much use looking at the preseason rankings ... Just think Baylor will be too much albeit they are not the team they had in 2011

Agreed on the preseason rankings ... much like the AP for NCAA squads.  Usually by the end of the year his rankings are spot on but in the middle of the season you'll see some squads that have better records/beat a team and are still ranked lower.  This one will be a fun game to watch.

Webb is up 7-0 at half. Tk had a 55 yard td run. Baylor coach was eject in first half

Pardon my french, but this was a darn good game. Baylor deserved the win; we were just a little shy on depth and a couple of fumble recoveries. I am proud of the Spartans. They did well.

 

If you were at the game, was it not the longest 48 minutes of your life???
