Perry County (1-0) @ Waverly (0-1)

The Vikings head north to take on Humphrey's County rival the Waverly Central Tigers. The Vikings are coming off a big win against Scotts Hill 28-16. If it wasn't for three fumbles in the red zone we probably would've won in a blowout! The Tigers of Waverly came up a little short against the Irish of Houston County this past week in Erin 33-31. What are y'alls thoughts? Hope to see a lot of Black and Gold in the stands Friday! It's Good To Be Gold!!! Row Vikings Row!!!

Going to need to watch those flags we gave up a ton of yardage on penalties. Ready to see if the wedge and power stuff looks as strong against a bigger school. One thing it looked like we may have the luxury of this year is quality subs, we moved alot of bodies in and out. Looking forward to Friday night! Good Luck and stay safe to both teams!

Waverly has improved a bit, but still down

Waverly is young. Very young. We lost 12 Seniors last year and only had 4 Juniors, now Seniors, return from last years team. We have 4 Seniors that start. That's it. The rest of our starting line up is comprised of a few Juniors Sophomores and Freshman. We are young and don't have much depth but have a great group of young kids with a lot of heart. Houston Co slipped by us simply because we came out in the first half flat and made a lot of simple mistakes. The Tigers showed a lot of heart and fight by coming back in the 4th quarter down 27-6 to 33-31. We missed the 2point conversion to tie. If Waverly plays like they did in the 2nd half of the Houston Co game all 4quarters against Perry..Waverly will win big.

But thats why you play 4 quarters because heck if Perry County plays like we did in the first half (21-6) we will be very hard to beat by anyone. Our Defense is STOUT. Our offense is fine its our kickoff/punt return that killed us, thats it. If you 3A boys think because y'all about beat a very weak Houston Co. team, who lost a lot from last year, that you can beat this small 1A school, you guys will be in for some heartache come Friday.

Good luck to you guys as well and i hope this game is injury free and all the guys going all out. I was fixing to ask how good is McEwen? we play them on senior night this year. I heard they have a lot coming back plus heard a lot of people saying they are going to be good this year.

Don't know anything about either team but picking PC because son has a good friend playing for them. The kid is a soph I think and 6'4" 285, a real monster. Been trying to get him to move to Dresden but no luck so far. Good luck both teams.
