GWave1....I can assure you that if Gallatin plays like Henry Co. did offensively...the Green Wave will lose this game at Beech....in other words... the Wave can't afford 4 turnovers and expect to win....that being said, I'm excited to hear that the Wave is back on the upswing!  Truthfully, I'd much rather see this game at Shackle Island Stadium this week as to have to watch the Northwest Vikings entertain my Patriots!...Tandem, I do believe that your Bucs will likewise improve from week to week over the next several weeks. Further, we can assume that the winner of this game will more than likely either get or pay a visit to Henry County in November....I also trust that the atmosphere will be similar to what is was this past week at Beech!  What a great place to visit and watch a game!  Lastly, it is comforting to know the respect and admoration each of our 3 programs have for one another.  The level of play is expected to high at all times, the respect among the schools is evident and it will be fun to see this season play out!  Best of luck to both the Green Wave and the Bucs.....this one should be a great one!

P.S.  GWave1...I wish I could say that Springfield was/is our weakest football representative in District 10-AAA....but I would be misleading you all....continue to watch the scoreboards over the next few weeks to affirm what I am trying to explain.....Is it possible for us to workout some kind of district team trade??

I for one could go see Gallatin at Henry Co. That would mean the Wave had a good season and made the playoffs. There is a great atmosphere in Paris. Or the Patriots could come to Gtown. I would not be upset about that either. However, that is a long way off.

I will say it again. Beech will be refocused this week and Henry and Carter will be out to prove they can carry a team to victory. The Wave know this and expect nothing less. Beech is still the defending state champions and Gallatin wants what they have. I expect a very tough game with lots of emotion.

I believe this game will go down to the wire and be decided by a big play here or there.  The Wave can't afford to give up big special team plays and expect to win.  I'm sure those things have been worked on all week.  Expect it to be high scoring as both offenses can be explosive.  This is definitely not the Wave team of last year, and from what I have seen I think they can play with most anybody.  A big win here would go a long way towards a very good season.  Should be a great game!

No offense but you can't judge a team like GHS so early in the season especially with its win over Springfield - I mean didn't Greenbrier put 54 up on Springfield -

Now it's not to say you won't have a great or good season but when a team comes off a year like last year wait to get at least 3 games under the by before saying they can play with anyone -

I think w/o Hurd beech is an average 4-5 win team

SC - overhyped and can they ever win a game that matters?

NotreDame66...in your previous post, I noticed you took glancing blows and/or below the belt shots at 3 different teams...so I'm curious, should any of the 3 teams you mentioned worry with suiting up Friday night or should they just mail it in for the rest of the season?....other than the Irish...what local team do you show allegiance to?

No - not shots legit questions about the teams which I think is very fair and should be asked this early into the season

For example - some said GHS could play with anyone and I did say way too early to tell from a team that took its bumps last year , after all they beat Springfield

SC- they may have a good team but have they ever one a game that matters????

Beech - w/o Hurd what will BHS do ? Heck many have asked that question

MJ- as others have also pointed out they are no where the team of a few years back but they win

We will learn alot tonight

My team Indy

Do u think they deserve suck a high ranking ?

No ( 3 SEC players help boost the ranking )

I also ask what team is Ravenwood - out scored opponents like 163-13 but they played stew creek and a patsy .... Are they for real ????

So no not giving a low blow as you mentioned - asking questions is all!

Notredame66, I did not make my statements just based on the Springfield game, I made them based also on seeing this team in the spring and fall practices and scrimmages.  I am fairly close to the program, and can see a difference in being around the players and coaches.  I feel like there is good talent, leadership and attitude on this team, from the coaches all the way down.  One game doesn't make or break a season, I am looking at this team from the start of winter workouts up until now, and just how far they have come.  I am excited about the prospects of a good season, but not based on just the first game.

I didn't see where anyone stated GHS could play with anyone especially after the Springfield win. I believe you are reading into our posters buzz about our team's renew attitude and demeanor too much.

I took the statement " can play with anyone" as a reference to our district. Gallatin is not right now at the same level as a Maryville, Ensworth or Brentwood Aca. However, I do believe if you are a good team that you have to have that confidence. Nothing wrong with that. And another thing, Gallatin beat Springfield in convincing fashion yet everyone knows Springfield is not a top tier program and has acknowledged but Gallatin gets ripped for getting the win. The Wave did EXACTLY what a good team should have done. Any good team! Yet it's all no big deal they were not any good. I got news for ya, that would have been a lot closer game last year. Improvements have been made. Now will that translate tonight, who knows? We shall see.

GREENWAVE84EG, I have the answer to your question from last week. Come find me.

On everything that I have heard so far, Gallatin is much improved from last year to this year.  This game tonight will definitely tell how much improvement Gallatin has made.  The problem that I see is if Gallatin wins tonight they are still going to get ripped because people will say Beech is doesnt have thier star RB.  While that may be the case Beech still has plenty of athletes on that team and no matter how good of a RB you have you still have to have a OL to block for him.  It is going to be a good matchup either way. I hope that Gallatin can win this game.  Good Luck Wave.

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
