I was proud of the Tigers last night. They never stopped fighting even to the final horn. It is obvious they turned a big corner and grew up overnight . I hope that the fans show up for our last home game. It was a sad turnout especially for a chance to win the region. These boys deserve the support of the whole town. Congrats to the jackets. Hope your season ends in gold. Thank you for your hospitality at the game. There are some good people in Hartsville and it was great to see the respect that they have for our players and staff.

Prayers for our two injured players. I hope they aren't as bad as they looked from the stands.

#14 broke both bones in his leg and it's pretty serious. #5 has an MRI set up for sometime early this week. They think it's an ACL but no one really knows for sure. He's a warrior and we are gonna miss him on defense. He wouldn't have came out of the game if it wasn't bad. But that's a a sophomore and a junior so I hope they will have a speedy recovery and be ready to go next season.

Thanks for the update . Prayers will continue for both. I am glad for the break so some others with dings can recover before Goodpasture.

I am grateful that both boys were not seniors and will have a chance to continue their careers.

Slimshady, what do you think our chances are against Goodpasture?

I think Gp will have problems stopping Cason...even if they try...but Gville defense wasn't very good either....i call it even...and pulling for Gville.

Good hard fought game by the Tigers. Gotta give props where it's due. Good luck the rest of the way. Effort like that will be rewarded come playoffs.

Our men have got to keep working to get better to play complete games..not half efforts. Defensive performances like that will get us eliminated early in playoffs. No excuse for that Gville team to put up that many points. Fortunately our offense could score at will. Not gonna say much more than that cause if you don't have anything good to say, then.....

I agree. I have complimented our defense all year, but this game was sub par. I'll give props

where they're due as well. G'ville earned some of their points, but we "allowed" some as well,

thru sloppy play. It'll be a killer in the playoffs. I'm sure Coach Keeton will get this fixed.

Sorry to hear about the Tigers injuries. Good luck to you guys the rest of the yr.

What i post, ain't always what i mean...checkout the big ones standings...i might know a little more than you think... :popcorneater:

BTW...number 15 was the difference for the Tigers offense, without him this game gets real ugly...is this his first game this season?

It's his second game, he came in the game against JC last week, his first time on a field in a few years

Thanks, we need all the help we can get!

Be careful what you wish for. I know you hate privates and you are pulling for Gordonsville vs GP. but remember you still have at least 3 more years playing GP, if GP looses to Gordonsville and misses the playoffs, I will lay odds that the power folks at GP will have a new head coach in 2014 as well as a new staff of assistants. It is obvious that GPs record is not due to lack of talent. They fired the coach last year who went 5-5 and lost in first round.

I hope they go through 4 coaches in the next 4 years... :popcorneater: and never make the playoffs

Well ofcourse its not due to lack of talent, they illegally like all privates.  Bring something to the conversation instead of mindless banter if you're going to join the conversation. :popcorneater:

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
