Under the Z-plan playoff system, historically Anderson County has been sent to quad 2 and West has played in quad 1.  It looks like the opposite this year with AC in quad 1 and West in quad 2.  If this thing is configured based on longitude and lattitude in the quad maps,  Why is it different this year? Bizzare

If the season were to end today this is what 5A playoffs would look like.  Keep in mind that this WILL change after week 10 and does not take into account district winners:

Quad 1:

8 Central at 1 Knox West

5 TN High at 4 South Doyle

6 David Crockett at 3 Campbell Co.

7 Gibbs at 2 Anderson County

Quad 2:

8 Lenoir City at 1 Rhea County

5 White Co. at 4 Olltewah

6 Oak Ridge at 3 East Hamilton

7 Stone Memorial at 2 Cleveland

Quad 3:

8 Tullahoma at 1 Gallatin

5 Clarksville NE at 4 Beech

6 lawrence Co. at 3 Shelbyville

7 Hillsboro at 2 Lincoln Co.

Quad 4:

8 Memphis Overton at 1 Henry Co.

5 Hardin Co. at 4 Dyer Co.

6 Millington at 3 Melrose

7 Ridgeway at 2 Memphip East.

Mav4.... You keep saying West is moving to Quad 2....Why is that? Is that something you are hoping for or something that you see within what TSSAA released today? Before you jump in and say "I have said all along, I wanna play West" it just seems that you are dead set on them heading to quad 2 when traditionally they have been in 1 and you guys have moved to Quad 2 before them.

I'm not so sure that Quad 1 is as stacked as everyone thinks... Just an opinion but I am thinking there are only 2 teams with a shot at coming out of this quad as long as both stay injury free. Quad 2 on the other hand, is stacked to the tilt in my opinion... One of many have a legit shot at coming out of this one.

Your logic escapes me. What does it matter? Assuming both teams keep winning, you will play each other. You either play them in the 3rd round or the semis. But you still play. It might even be better to meet them in the quarters rather than the semis.

Just a simple question as to why he thinks West is moving to Quad 2. His reasoning behind his thoughts. His rationale. He seems to be a "stats" guy, figured he had the formula worked out. Thanks for you input, or lack thereof

Easy big man. Didn't mean to get your panties in a wad. My question was a simple one too. It's all conjecture based on what the seeding criteria and travel factors dictate. M4L is taking a stab at it like anyone else. But then you gig him like he's trying to avoid West somehow, as if he had the ability to do so lol! If you don't like it I suggest you employ your obvious prodigious brainpower to the task and set the rest of us bumpkins straight how about it.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
