Does anybody know if Arlngton will have any players still suspended on Friday?

Owlbooster:

That's a good question. I've heard rumors about what happened, but I'm not going to publish what I heard because I have no way of knowing the accuracy of what I heard. Regardless of that, 88.5 broadcasted the Arlington vs Cordova game on the radio this past Friday and I tuned in to hear the first half before I went into the Whitehaven vs Overton game @ Halle. It was a pretty close game and from what I was hearing Arlington was playing their 2nd string QB during the game. However, I read in the newspaper that the starting QB, Hunter Sheffield played during the 4th overtime period throwing a 10 yard TD pass. (Prep football wrap-up)

That being said, I think the coach is going to play his players because we know he has already played one of them.

That's just my opinion.

2. Whitehaven (praying we play much better than we did last week)

So am I. You know, it gets kind of hard to sit in the stands and listen to all of the griping and complaining about coaching. I know that Whitehaven has raised expectations amoung the fans and parents but every game isn't going to be a blow out. We haven't had to deal with this much attrition since I can remember. It's just gripe, gripe, gripe, gripe and complain, complian, complain, and more complaining.

It's a whole lot easier for folks to tear down. It's tremendously harder to build!

3. White Station (where is this game?)

The lower seed hosts in the post season. I would venture to say since White Station is the lower seed that they will be the home team which is probably going to be at the Fairgrounds.

16. CBHS (how did a 1-9 team make it??)

By virtue of the playoff format for D2-AA. I don't think anybody would have envisioned that St. Benedict would have been this bad, but they are. It speaks to the format more so then anything else. Personally, I don't have a problem with it as long as the format and criteria established leaves out any type of subjectivity when the selection of teams takes place. If the equation/format/selection process used is established before hand and a 1-9 team meets all of the criteria establised by the process, then I'm fine with that. What I do not want is for there to be some type of selection committee that goes into a back room to deliberate and decide who should get in the playoffs and who shouldn't Just because there will be teams that make it into the playoffs with losing records. THAT will get abused OR there will always be someone who thinks that there was bias in the selection process ... and in most cases ... there will be. For that reason alone, I never want a process that uses a selection committee. I don't trust that to be done fairely.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
