I think Fadnek will be the front runner at QB...just my opinion. A good off season hitting the weights mixed in with speed and agilities and he could be a special kid with really good receivers to throw to. Throw in TJ Allison in the rotation in the back field and the cats will be hard to stop on offense.

The whole "Higgins to QB" thing has been discussed behind the scenes for a while. That would have fit more in the former coaches offense (think Rian Hall). We have three solid QBs for the next two years. By the time they leave, 8th grader Caleb Martin could be ready to be very special.

So much to discuss over the next eight months, gotta pace ourselves.

Here's an opinion/trivia question..... which all-time Wildcat had the most successful college career. I don't have an opinion yet. Curious to see what you guys think.

NuWildcat TJ Allison may steal the show @ RB next year. He is a hidden gem in my opinion not being able to play this past year. Nole, I saw the Martin kid play for Jefferson and he has an awesome athletic body for a kid that age. With a lot of coaching and with the raw talent he has he could be a superstar in the making, eventually.

And Jason Mcaddley should be mentioned as well. Although he didn't have what I would call a great college career being in a run oriented offense like they had at Alabama at the time. I still think he had a good one given the circumstances. He must have done something right to get drafted into the NFL and have a career in the NFL. Emmon Love had a very good career at UT.

I agree Tee is probably too important at other positions to make him the QB. That being said, I think Tee Higgins will be successful wherever he ends up playing. Watching him play football this season was impressive considering he was just a freshman, but after going to the basketball game Tuesday night I was blown away with this kid. He plays the game and carries himself like a senior. He looks so natural out there and you know it is only going to get better. What a good kid too. Any time I have been around its is always yes sir, no sir very respectful young man. Can't wait to see what his future holds.

Hey I thought this thread was labeled 2014 Wildcats not about 2012 wildcats and coach blade. Let's hear what next year looks like and look forward to the future not what happened two seasons ago now.

Welcome to Coacht T NuWilcat..  You will  see a lot of threads on here that talk about other issues other than the posted Advertisement.

To talk about the future.. sometimes you have to bring up the past.

Nole. I hope they don't put Higgins there. I think he is too valuable at WR and like you said will be an awesome safety. I think if he has any future beyond HS (Which I think he does, but don't wanna speak too soon on that for sure) but I think if he does it will be at S or WR, but that's just my personal opinion. I went to the Gibbs vs. OR JV game and I was impressed with Fadnek. Like you said if he gets constant reps on the varsity in practice he is gonna be really good, I think. Has a very good arm.

I may start a new thread and just call it "Higgins".. I could talk  about this guy all day long...This kid is special.. I think he can also play running back. As a matter of fact, I would like to see Gaddis bring back the Rocket screen and  feature Higgins. I talk about Number 81 (Bonds) being a key player ---this Higgins kid- is one of the best freshman players I have ever seen.

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
