Slim88
By the way, you sensed wrong when you sensed I voted for Obama. Never have voted for a democrat due to the "morality issues" However, I stopped shy of voting for McCain for I finally realized a sin is a sin. You ask me to explain, well starving a working class citizen out is the same as aborting one don't you think? Ponder that for a while as your wealthy friends cut all the pay they can from the very workers that allow your families to pay thousands of dollars a year to win a state championship at CPA while separating themselves from reality. they won't win state. And never will as long as they stay in 3A but I could say that for everyone else in 3A besides Alcoa and CAK.
alltime
Well, that's a contradictory statement. Because if you looked at the public records of the private schools, which, of course, are accessible to all, you'd find that BA has more athletes on financial aid than any school in the state. However, they lost to Ensworth. So, regarding the contradiction, I guess it wasn't the best team money could buy. If you look at the financial records, CPA has no participating athletes on financial aid because that is the law. CPA would get crushed by the BAs, Ensworths, Baylors, MUSs, etc., . . . just like ya'll would. What you have to understand is that you have two factions of private schools, one set with money and one without. The MBAs of the world have tens of millions in their endowment. That's because MBA started back in the 19th century. CPA started in the 1980s. They barely have any alums making money yet, and your alums is where you get your dollars. I know it's hard to understand from the outside. . . but there is a big difference between the CPAs, Goodpastures, Nashville Christians, etc., and those fellas in the DII leagues. Eventually, this whole mess will go the way of several other states, and that is all the privates will join together . . . BUT they will dissociate from the TSSAA and form their own association. And while the Fairviews of the world may make the state championship games, this won't necessarily be financially viable for the publics. BUT, I hope so. I love communities like Fairview. I'm a rural guy, and I pull for the rural guy. I've just seen all sides of the same picture. You keep saying they will dissociate and form their own association, do you ever wonder why they didn't do it the last time TSSAA split public and private? Do some research and come back and tell me why they didn't because that is the very reason they won't again my friend!!!

So, the west side has to fight against a private (CAK) and an open zone (Alcoa). I haven't heard ya'll hate on them like you have CPA. IF CPA can get buy LC, they'll have one massive mountain to take in Alcoa . . . cause Alcoa will whoop Upperman.

Mr. Postman1
Postman, if you knew me, you'd know we're on the same team. I didn't "sense wrong". I just provided an analogy to get your attention. I'm in your boat my friend. I just encourage you to study financial facts before you go putting CPA in the same boat with Ensworth, MBA, and BA. CPA is on a different continent with those schools, a much lower continent. I encourage you to get to know some CPA families and get to know their struggles. And then I encourage you to get to know some Ensworth, MBA, etc., families and see what differences you find. You are profiling incorrectly. Trust me buddy, I'm from the far south side of the tracks. My kids do not go to private school, although I'd like to provide that opportunity for them. We'll see. My family will have a tough financial decision to make when they get to MS/HS age. Blessings to you Mr. Postman, and to all your family/friends that are haunted by a corrupt President and Congress.Move to a small town like Westmoreland where the public schools are just as good as the private ones in Nashville. I live here but drive an hour to Nashville everyday to allow the school atmosphere your trying to acquire. I get involved with the kids at my childrens school to make an impact on the sinners as well as the saints. We can't just pull out as Christians and say we are separating ourselves from the very people we were chosen to reach. Why is a Mcgavock soo bad? You can blame it on government if you want but it's because the Christians turned their backs on the school and allowed it to get to the point it's at now. Christians will go all over the world on missionary fields while snubbing the folks in their own back yard because it's not easy dealing with the folks here at home because they can come to your house on a daily basis and ask for help. Do you want two separate groups of citizens here in the US like other third world countries. I will tell you from first hand experience that you don't but it's quickly moving toward that. You have let the cat out of the bag as far as th taking 25% of the funds from the TSSAA. People don't realize the insurance problem here in the US was caused by the rich private sector wanting to cut the health benefits that's always been a given for their workers. The pay problem is the same. they don't want to provide a living wage because they don't have to. To top it off they no longer want to help provide a public education because they have Chinese workers todo the average laborers work now. All this seems to have nothing todo with football but it is very much tied together.

GreyRanger
I wasn't hating on CPA. In fact I have ties with CPA. Usually go for them when fv is out. Granted, I have not heard you "hate" on CPA. I was just referring to the general populace on this thread. You (Slim88) and Swarm have seemed to keep a very level head. This isn't about CPA vs. FV. It's about the future of HS football in TN. The TSSAA is inept. And this ineptness applies to both private and public.

GreyRanger
I will retire my posting on this thread with a thought from a fella much wiser than all of us: "Men that are good for making excuses are seldom good for anything else." -Ben Franklin God Bless all of of us . . . and I seriously and earnestly mean that. We need His blessing.

Swarm
Wow! I have decided to hold my tongue about the last 3 minutes of the game, but it sure is hard. Looks like you should've held on a little tighter there blabber mouth. I'm pretty sure you just wanted to vent about how "dirty" or "unsportsmanlike" FV was because we actually played football to the buzzer and didn't start bowing and weeping at your offensive lines feet when Saint Martin decided WE should call it a ballgame with 3 mins to go... BUT you got the elephant in the room to make his presence WELL known. Good for you. I do hope you have changed your opinion of FV and coach Hughes though after reading some of the more logical rebuttal to your claim that we can't "accept grace". If not, you've totally lost by respect.
