Trousdale visits GCA

I am sure there will be a play when our 300 plus center is in space leading a rusher, he can really motor. Not saying he will run the 100 meter in the spring just saying the kid has great footwork.

i watched the austin east highlights on youtube and couple of others. spent a lot of time on the ae film, just glossed over the others, so i'm gonna mainly comment on the ae one.

it looks like both gca and ae lines spend most of the game standing up and watching the skill players play football. i understand this is just one game and i'm not attempting to be condescending, i'm just relaying what i see. the screen plays are a good wrinkle, but creasy will have our kids flying to the ball like you haven't seen this year. ae looks like they are reacting where our kids will already be acting.

as far as gca's d line goes. i see two very big boys in the the middle that change gaps a lot and play high without much penetration. the ends are much more athletic and like to play up field. our line will be on both the ends and tackles hips all night.

the o-line stands up when pass blocking and doesn't move side to side like i think they could. when run blocking their first move is straight up. they are athletic and big, but their 1st move is straight up, especially when pulling.

saw the center make this move 3 times in what little film i've watched. that won't cut the mustard.

i've also watched a highlight film of grace's from 2012. the offensive line play, especially run blocking, is not on par with what it was last year. while that could be an indictment on this year's line it could just as easily be an accolade to last year's. i didn't pay any special attention to player #'s, but the play of the pulling guards stood out a lot.

this is not meant to be a post where i'm trying to be offensive and i have worded it as carefully as i can so as not to offend. i played o and d line and enjoy breaking down film, especially film of successful teams deep in the playoffs, the above is what i saw.

i'm gonna be up for a while tonight, any other links to film i'd greatly enjoy.

I got the same analysis from what I saw.  I think they are much better in the skill position and will rely on them more than their line.
