Wow!

Congrats to all the kids on this list but i see 12 plus from three schools (Adamsville, Grace, Trinity) and TC, who goes undefeated and state title has TWO.  Those two seem to be tokens from the Tennessean All-Midstate teams.  It seems to be that way every year TC has won a state title (except '97) when they rolled the All-State lists.  I am not saying any of these kids on the list should be replaced, but wow!  The bottom line is this: Grace (Knoxville) and Adamsville/Trinity (Jackson) are backed by large media outlets and those writers are voting for those and TC, along with the other rural schools, are hoping a major outlet's writers like (Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Clarksville, Memphis, Jackson) throw a bone based on the names seen during the end run.  I know its tough to see/know about sooooo many kids, but going undefeated and winning the whole pie means you probably have more than two.  I'm sure they will take the ring over that anyway.

PS - I really wish The Tennessean would bring back All-Midstate by class instead of the AAA/D-II AA team with some AA/A/D-IIA sprinkled in its 2nd and 3rd teams.  It was so much cooler when they did teams for each class and had a offensive POY, Defensive POY, and Coach of the Year for each class.  Just my thoughts.  Happy New Year!!!

Trousdale deserved more kids on the team as well, but the Union City linemen should have had more representation.

From an outsider looking in I agree as well, UC's line was very good ! I'm old style, line it up and run the ball, watched these guys in person against NC, the 4 point stand on the O line is yester yr but it still works...... Congrats to all the young lads that still give us the thrill of victory and sometimes the agony of defeat, congrats to all and happy new yr !

No offense to any of the Coacht posters but in the reomote NW corner of Tn we we reside we are accustomed to getting snubbed a little bit by the folks who vote on these things. However this year we got alot more attention than normal. Congrats to all the young men who made the list.

I agree "BigSwo", Humboldt got four (4) on the all state list! By the way, I'll be in UC this Friday for the Basketball game between UC & the Vikings!!!

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
