I would like to nominate the JA-parent of a certain 220lb class athlete on the Greenville team as MOST Classless Parent Award... No names mentioned but his actions directly influenced / motivated the beat down that his son received on the gym floor by the new 220 LB class State Champion..... Good luck with your recovery and hope to never cross you path at future Alcoa / Greenville events....

Evans plays football?

What I want to know is how Evans was eligible to wrestle for Alcoa.  He was living and wrestling in California and transfers back to Alcoa to live with his family (family never moved to California??? and the TSSAA made him eligible.  If he transferred from St. Parris Graham to Baylor & was not a boarding student would the TSSAA allow him to wrestle?  Will the TSSAA now make everyone that transfers after 1/2 the season is complete eligible?

Newest guy, although I commented on my son's wrestling on the final match. I never meant to take away from the wrestler that won. I was only voicing my opinion like you had earlier. However, had Renshaw wrestled smarter and was on his game, it probably would have been a different type of match. It could have went either way.. The wrestler that won did a great job and deserved to win. You will not hear me whin and complain my son was cheated. One thing I am about is being fair.

Yeah a monster in small school, doesn't count. I hate this stupid division split. It's got teams like Alcoa and Hixon thinking they can compete with Cleveland, Ryan or Baylor.

Come on bro....

Why can't we let the State Champions be proud of their accomplishments........

I know that when my young-un won his, I didn't think any less of his title because Zach Watson was winning in the JV div..

So Bro, go give that sweet new child of yours a kiss from uncle bearcat .... And chill

ALCOAgoon, you name is fitting with posts like that.......

Talking about a boys beat down? Talk about classless![/quote

I feel bad for the Athlete having to deal with an insane parent! Maybe you are the parent I'm referring to? Maybe you have no idea what I'm talking about?Goon? Yes! Classless no way but the parent definety tried to intimidate a 13yr old kid and it backfired on him.....Thoroughly defeated probably would be a better way to gently describe it for you!:)))

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
