Single A State Draws

I've seen Clarkrange play three games this year, and I've seen Meigs Co. play three games this year.  McMinn Co. is a mutual opponent that Clarkrange beat by 21 points, and Meigs Co. beat by 20 and 34 points (two games).  I'm pulling for Meigs, but I think the winner of this game will be the team that shoots the 3 best, and doesn't get their best players in foul trouble.

Clarkrange by a bunch!

I haven't got to see most of these teams play, but i will give my .02 cents.

Union City by 8

Clarkange by 8

Dresden by 11

Jackson Co. by 16

This seems to be the popular picks on all 4 class A games. I bet there will be an upset out of one of the games maybe. Normally is anyway.

Well with the two players in question York would not have been 3-23, they are both very good players with bright futures.

I'm sure there'll be many who disagree with me, but IMO York would still have struggled to have a winning record if these girls had gone there. Clarkrange would have still had a good team and a winning record without them, but not the powerhouse that they now have, and will have for the next three years. Jackson co. would still have been an A powerhouse without the transfer that they have but possibly not quite as strong. Players and their 'parents' want to attend winning programs with better coaches. Many of the better, more successful coaches encourage or do nothing to discourage good players transfers from other programs. A few very good coaches (one of the best that I know) do not! This just happens to be the facts. Like it or not. Nothing is going to change.

I agree with everything you said. York would be about middle of the pack in that rediculouslly strong district they are in with them. I don't have any ill feelings about what their parents did. If I lived in Fentress Co and was in the same situation, I would have took them to Clarkrange no doubt about it.

I'm assuming your talking about Coach Riddle at LA and I agree there too, she is one of the best coaches around.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
