Troll will be on the mountain Sat.  Better get your team ready for the best mid's we've seen all year (including SE Whitfield).  No. 3 and No. 11 are great with a ball at their feet and #11 will try to qualify for an Academy Award for flopping if they get down.  They are a great passing team.

He sold one late…went down with arms flailing backwards like he was shot in the back in a WWII film!  But he has great foot skills and apparently has found his flopping works.  If you can sell it, PK's will come!

I've heard Central Magnet is a good team, and the 2 numbers you mentioned were also brought up last night.  I think it will be a really good game. The Bucs D is solid. Bucs score on a set piece and win 1-0.  :popcorneater:

Anybody have kick-off times for any of the games (especially the ones in Chattanooga)?  Greenville/Rockwood game is the only one with a time on the TSSAA website.

My final 8:

Greenville

CAK

Murf. Central - hate to pick against a Chattanooga team, but my exhaustive 5-minute schedule analysis says that Murf. Central wins this one

Signal Mtn.

Hume-Fogg

CPA

Jackson N.S.

Madison Acad.

Hume-Fogg beats White House Heritage 2-1 in PKs 3-2 and Hume-fogg still had another kicker. truthfully Hume-Fogg owned almost all of OT except for one or two chances. it was a good game like predicted!

It was a terrific game and I'm sure that those were the best teams that either one of them had faced this year.  Hume Fogg will be a handful for poor ol' Page Saturday.  Both GK's played superbly with HF's making some spectacular saves in the PK period.  This was the first time for Heritage to be in OT this year.  Both teams left it on the field.  Gettin down to the nitty gritty now.

I saw in the paper that the Signal game is at 3. I'm trying to find out about Boyd right now.

Not sure how you picked Murf. based on schedule analysis. Boyd looks to have played better teams IMO.

Central has wins against Riverdale, Blackman, Merrol Hyde and CCS.

Boyd's quality wins (IMHO) are East Ridge and McCallie.  I am also still having trouble getting past your loss to CSAS.

I guess some of those wins carry more weight to you than they do with me. Either way it will be a good game.  If we manage to make a run at state, we will look at that CSAS loss as the turning point.

I also think it will be a good game.  Your defense has proven to be very solid and can keep you in a game with anybody in A-AA.  I'll be pulling for ya.

same for Hume-Fogg, it was their first time THIS year in OT, they had been eliminated past two year in district tournament, last year in golden goal to lipscomb, and year before in PKs to rival MLK. so they had some recent experience I guess.

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
