Playing different sports throughout the year can hurt in some ways. It may take a couple of years for them to adjust to playing football and to contend, but I say in 3-5 years Summertown will be a serious contender.

I don't think summertown has the -football athletes- to be serious contenders in that amount of time.  As far as I know (which could be so far off its not funny)  but they do not have peewee type presence, or a long standing middle school program, all of these things are building blocks for success for high school football.

They have been in youth football for 5 or 6 years and middle school for about 3 I think.

I figure there were some that played football somewhere while growing up either at lawrenceburg, Lewis county or MTP anyway.

Most defiantly. I'm sure a lot played probably at Lawrence County High School in Lawrenceburg. I believe it's about 10 minutes from Summertown. Good to see the Eagles finally getting them a team.

regardless its good for everyone around, adds another team to the general area, so less travel for all.

Their jv has struggled somewhat but that's to be expected, that's probably why they pushed the varsity season back another year. I know my son was really wanting to play them this year with him being a senior but what can you do. Maybe he will see some jv action!

Lol, I don't think your son will see any JV time. I think that would be a little unfair for those poor JV kids. I seen him the other day. He'll be a hand full for teams this year. What's he up to now?
