BigBoy2008
Have we been watching the same games? There's only one "big guy" who plays and contributes. The reason Macon is 9-3 is because of guard play combined with the rebounding of the 4 and the 5. Also against Upperman, the stat sheet read 9 turnovers. Heck of a win tonight against a good Clay Co team. The last game I was referring to was the DC game and check your turnover stats for that. It killed us. Last night against Clay our team played great! Even the coach held back on his substitutions. The kids played more as a team last night. Still didn't play to our maximum ability, but any improvement is good.
wbryguy
Cc went 3-1 at rhea co tourney. No shame in the loss considering our fight and the opponent
UpperCumberlandMan
Cushings from UH never touched the floor, what's up with that. Saw him play this summer and he definately looked better than most of these starters. never seen him past warmups. He seems like a football player trying to play basketsball. Thick kid, but only 6'0.....not much futer in round ball I would think. Might be better for him to start hitting the weight room. dcclaw
Anyone know if Dekalb plays F.C Boyd three or four more times before the new year????? say what you will about DC's schedule this year but it WAS just what the Dr ordered. with ONE returning starter from last years squad these guys needed an opportunity to develop as individual players and ultimately gel as a unit and they've done just that. their schedule would not have been well suited for a team who's nucleus had been together for 1,2 or more years but again, perfect for them. aside from one blow out loss to LA, DC has been in every game. Compare DC in its first game to DC in its last game and you'll see two very different teams. Mega kuddos to the coaching staff for pushing the boys but at the same time remaining patient with them as they developed. 2 players from last years team who were injured during football season will return after the break. Beck (Guard) and Bone (SF) are a dynamic 1-2 punch. Bone is as good as athlete as you'll find in the District, Beck's growth has been outstanding at the PG position. Manages the game well, can drive, shoot or kick at will. If Bone were strictly a post player he'd be a force to recon with near the rim. Props to the big dogs in the District for where they're at but DC ain't the same team it was a couple months ago. Got there work cut out for them for sure, but there is a "storm a brewin" in DC
wbryguy
In no way believing DC is not a legitimate team. But, you can not find it odd you play a team 4 times in like 6 weeks?

I find it odd, seems like we played them several times last year too.
Iceman2000
I'm like most DC fans, I too wonder why we have played Boyd so many times, very weird tournament for the Christmas Tournament at Dekalb. So I had to ask why, only thing anyone would say is that the scheduling was done by our girls coach. Might explain alot. Just FYI.
wbryguy
None of my business but again a ill odd...thanks for clarifying.
Iceman2000
Dcclaw who are the 2 kids u are referring to that will be back. Team plays real hard, but not extremely talented. Bone and Beck are slightly above average for the district. Just can't possibly see how 2 kids will make that much of a difference. I will remain optimistic, but hard to believe. We know we can beat Boyd. Lol
