Except there are two schools with actual football teams. Cannon has six grammar schools with no football teams. It is just a collection of players playing for what I would assume is a volunteer coach. I don't know that for a fact but would guess that's true. heck the head coach of the high school team is barely out of high school himself.

Fentress county has the same set up 4 different elementary schools and one county jr high team. We have had a fairly successful jr high program. I think a lot of it is the coach. Our jr high team has an excellent coach.

Seems like to me the football team has the best possible situation with having those kids all under one roof at the younger ages, they can install there system, offense and defense at young ages and develop them up to there high school careers and then fine tune it, so not real sure where the problem would be is it the coaching in the younger ages or your high school coaches

Hmm....well it was something else last season. I was in shock when they came to DC last year with it.

they need a good place to train..nothing really there in CC to train for cross country

i would just like cannon to be competitive at this point. I have pride in this community and would just like to see some fighting spirit from the football program.

cannon has had some decent players in the past 5-10 years....but seems in the last 3-4 years either they... a) quit playing .. they are not be devlop or.. c) their moving away...not sure which or maybe a little of all the above

So with this being said is the present coaching staff or just that the students at Cannon County don't want to play, if that's the case need to look on the inside first before you fix the outside
