They put up 48 on us. They also put up 35 on Alcoa. And from what I understand they were about to score again when they turned the ball over. That 48 points they scored on us isn't looking so bad now is it? Yeah we barely beat Jefferson County but if you take away all of the silly turnovers that game isn't even close. I don't believe I ever implied that we were going to the blue cross bowl. All I said was we have a chance to hang with west if we don't turn the ball over. If we do that and they turn the ball over a few times we might even have a chance to win that game. I saw the '10 Govs lose to West 14-12 at their place. You wanna know something else? That west team went on to the Semis, so they were pretty dang good then to. Granted, they are better then than they are now but we are also better then we were then. If we win this friday like we should we will have our first 3 game winning streak since '07. We should be going into that game with confidence.

did you just say "three game winning streak" with a straight face????

God,

There's lots of haters on this board. It's a fact...we haven't won 3 games in a row since '07. Just remember though.. Payback can be a bish. When maryville's inevitable fall from glory comes I will be laughing at you guys.

no hate gov91,   just a little humor......I wish the govs would win them all, just not when they are playing Maryville.....lol

What? I said I wished OR's program was like WB's. And we have had plenty of losses. And what is a bish?

You have as many losses as the hair on Coach Gaddis's head. Which isn't a surprise considering that you play powerhouses like Campbell Co, Halls, and Karns. :popcorneater: Edited by Governors91

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
