I have seen Fairview play earlier this year(with the starting quarterback).  At times he was able to keep some plays alive that would produce positive yards.  If he plays Friday night I think he will be able to do the same, but I am not sure how fast Lewis County is.  I think it will come down to whose defense steps up the most.  I am going to go with Fairview this week.

Lewis County is a very good team and is always well coached.  They will be extra motivated after their loss last week...that's what good teams do.  Fairview better be ready to play the best game of their season so far, in order to keep it close.  Then again, in this district on any given Friday, there will most likely be many surprises over the next 5 weeks...no one should be discounted with the caliber of teams we have competing this year.  There is no way not to enjoy this particular season if you love the sport.  Hats off to all the young men workin' hard and providing the entertainment.

Wednesday of game week and not a peep about this one. Last season's 11AA heated game of the year. Looks like Lewis is playing for playoff seeding and Fairview is playing for their playoff lives. Any interest in this one?

I am taking Fairview in this one...Zimmerman will be the best player on that field and its not close. 38  -27

It's Homecoming at Fairview. The largest crowd of the year for us. Lewis County travels like no other, except for Giles. Even with both teams not where they have been, the crowd will be huge if the weather holds. The atmosphere will be awesome. I've learned to respect Lewis County football and it's fans. It's the same old story in this one. Just like last year, it'll come down to turnovers.

I expect LC to be their same old physical, smashmouth, well disciplined, outstandingly coached selves in this one with the flavor of rival blood on their tongues. Fairview players and coaches will need to stand up and perform at their highest level to pull out this victory. I believe they are more than capable but Sharp's coaching doesn't allow you many mistakes. If last weeks defense shows up for Fairview, I expect this to be an awesome game. Good luck to both teams on a hard fought, injury free contest.

Idk on this one. Two power schools having a rough time. Both come to play every time they step on the Gridiron. I hate to pick against legend-Sharp but Fairview Z-man is a difference maker..... If he plays it will be

Lewis County 27

Fairview 35

Without Z-Man

Lewis County 27

Fairview 14

I for one know that we are no where as good as we was last year but I don't agree that we are having a rough year by no means, we lost at Camden and it took an on side kick and Hickman scoring 2 TD's in the last 3 minutes of the game to win and we are on pace to make the playoffs for the 23rd yr in a row so I really don't think we are having a rough yr my friend! Just my opinion though

hey partner I talked to the Giles County coaching staff tonight and surprised them. They said something about everybody hating Lewis and I told them that wasn't the case for me. That I have the utmost respect for the panthers. But for a regular panther season this is a "down" year. ðŸ¯

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
