WK 3 of the Playoffs: South Doyle at Knox West

Honestly if this game is close, I'd be shocked. West is just flat out too good for any team in East TN, SD included. These boys real good. Outside from their fans (and apparently coaches looking some old threads) this team doesn't have a weakness that can be exploited. Assuming their bus gets there safely, this won't be a four quarter game.

Are you saying there are some weak links in the coaching staff?? Do tell...

South Doyle is a great team and deserves a lot of respect.  West is playing much better football the second half of the season and has recovered from the mental fog of the first few games. It should be noted that Asheville is 11 and 1 and going deep into the North Carolina playoffs. Who beat them?  West did at their house!  Thunderstorms and all.  This will be South Doyle's toughest game of the season and West's toughest game since Maryville.   West is on a mission and should win this one.  34 - 21

I got to watch west earlier in the year. They are very good, well-coached, have some hitters and way above-average quickness and speed. I have not seen SD, but you don't go undefeated unless you are very good. Their qb is a tough kid who any coach would love to have on the team. Looking at Friday night highlights, the SD running back usually looks quicker than the other team. I'm not sure that will be the case this week. The matchup between SD's rb and the quick, hard hitting safety at west should be fun to watch.

I think it will be a very good game. The team with the fewest turnovers and penalties should win. West should have a slight edge because they have been there, but SD will be at home in front of the SD homers. LOL

Good luck to both teams. I hope all the kids stay healthy.

I think a huge factor has been pointed out in a previous post.  SD has 8 two way starters including the qb.  West has 0.  With West's speed and their physical play,  the two platoon system could take over this game in the 2nd half.  This West team is firing on all cylinders.  They are going to be tough to beat.  They're on a mission.

Its been a long time, so here it goes:

The Cherokees of South-Doyle will host the Rebels of Knox West for a scalping party in South Knoxville.  The Cherokees have a huddle full of weapons to throw at the Rebels.  Leading the Tribe is a great football leader and play caller, Brody Rollins, that will play much better than his size.  Has a great mind, and ability for this game.  Having an option with Joc Bruce to throw too, hand it off too, or cause a Defensive Coordinator to have to think about, will make it hard to defend.  Malik Lundy gives all defenses another person in the backfield to have to worry about, and one of the under the radar players in the area that can break one at any second. On the outside, Shoan Labeoux, is another great playmaker that always manages to make a play when you least expect it.

The Rebels on the other hand have the Two Headed Monster of Seth Marshall and Nathan Cottrell.  By far the fastest two players in one backfield this year.  Marshall is also an under sized, under the radar player that blows you away with just how fast, and physical he is. Cottrell is as fast as advertised as well.  If he gets that seam, then it’s all over.  Umar Tate is another player on the outside that could come up big in this game if needed, and will keep the Cherokee defensive backfield in check, just long enough for a rocket to come flying by.

The defenses of both teams are fast, but the difference is Max Bacon, Max Bacon, Max Bacon.  He is like a Hawk looking over the prey until he pounces and finds a good landing spot in the end zone to pull apart the captured item.  Although the Cherokees have a great defensive backfield themselves that do a great job of setting up an opponents QB and then picking him off, they are playing a team that is not known for throwing spears, just cannon balls.

This will be a matchup of two of Knoxville’s most highly talked about players, and a showing of just how good they are.  There will be a difference though, and it’s called team Speed.  Something that the Rebels have so much of.  Knoxville West wins all three phases of the game.  Offense West Speed, Defense West Speed, and Special Teams West Speed.

The Scalping Party will turn into the Trail of Tears, as the Rebels of Knox West move on after a 42-21 win over the South-Doyle Cherokees.

Just my opinion, don’t take it personal.  Good luck to both teams and each player involved.

    • The people need our help!
    • Lol when was last time they won region or got past the 3 rd round.
    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
