No one is picking Oakland hardly except the people that saw all 12 games. Not gonna disrespect Blackman with a prediction because they have won the last 2 meetings. Just don't be surprised if the game does go Oaklands way. Lots of experience and speed for both teams on both sides of the ball.

I don't think anyone reading this thread would see you picking Oakland as disrespect to Blackman. Let's face it, it will be a spoiler for one team or the other no matter who wins. Oakland is a Hoss of a team and has a great defense and I think the offense is Blackman's strength so it will be a toss up game, I think this game will really boil down to who executes and to what level they bring. It may very well be a special teams game. In hindsight I believe the Hoover game gave Blackman a level of speed and competitionand experience that might give them an edge

Oakland stands a good chance, I don't see how many people don't believe that, yes the Lavergne game was a speed bump, but Oakland matches well against Blackman. Should be a close defensive battle.

Where is Midtennfootball at he was saying LaVergne was irrelevant. Shows how much he really knew about 7AAA. One of the few regions to get five teams into the playoffs.

I'm right here. That game was close bc Oakland turned the ball over 5 times in lavergne territory. I said compared to past years, 7-AAA isn't very good and I stand by what I said. I know more about the history of this district that your sensitive brain could get your mind around

I understand that if Blackman wins, they will host the semifinals. What if Oakland wins? Being from East Tennessee, I believe that Maryville will win over Science Hill. Would the higher seed (Maryville) host Oakland? People around here have argued both ways...Maryville would travel only if Blackman wins, as well as Maryville will host if Oakland wins. What do you folks in Middle TN understand about this?

The next round is in Murfreesboro this year.

Not when Oakland was moving the ball up and down the field. Smyrna and LaVergne both got in playing a weak non district schedule. The 2009-2012 version of this district was as tough as they come

Too bad you can't make a compelling argument without resorting to name calling. The administration of this site isnt too big on profanity.I've been following football in this area since 1990 so try again

Dude u started watching in 1990 according to ur profile u were born in 1984 that would've made u 6 years old I was a parent right after u were born boy get a grip.

That's right I was raised on Region 4-5A/7-AAA football.

As for the game, looks like it is going to be conditions similar to last year. Both teams struggled throwing the ball last year, so I would look for both teams to use high percentage throws, especially on the edge where both teams have shown to be vulnerable at times.

Their kicker being hurt creates an even smaller margin for error against Oakland so the Patriots execution will have to be flawless. Given Oakland's struggles in the red zone, one would think they try to simplify their offense or work on a short yardage set.

IMO, this a legacy game for the Oakland seniors. No doubt they have had a great season, but a loss in this game makes one wonder what might have been. Despite this game being on TV, I encourage everybody to go out and see this game in person. Could be a long time before you see a matchup of two teams this talented again
