From my understanding, the kids playing basketball are working out in the weight room as well. Probably not as much as the others but Coach Willard believes in being strong and physical ust like Coach Rice. It's a good thing when all the coaches seem to be on the same page. Looking forward to the season.

I wasn't sure if or how much they worked out during the season, probably more fitness type work than heavy lifting, would assume that would mess with your shooting.

No doubt in shape which carried over some for football. Watching them play, the basketball team is young. Some of those young'uns are starting to thicken up. It's got a little to do by getting older but workouts are helping. I believe they work on a lot of footwork as well which of course will help our speed. Coach Willard is big on all this.

Wayne County had six players make the times daily all area team, congratulations boys!

congrats to the boys for the honor!!!!!hard work pays off....good news is 4 of them come back next year....bad news is those other 2 will be very hard to replace

WC wil be in top three in new region if they get the lineman squared up. They should make a very deep run in the playoffs.

I think WC will be fine on the line, there's some younger boys that have really grown and by mid season should be playing well. WC's skill players will carry this team enough early on until these younger players get in the groove to keep them in good shape.

In case you didn't know, we had several young men honored in the district for their play this past year with Rice being named district MVP and Floyd defensive player of year. Congrats to all players and coaches.

There is no region awards since region 6 was done away with and we went into districts. Next year you'll have region awards and no districts.

I really like what I'm seeing from the young men in the weight room, a lot of boys taking it upon themselves to put in extra time to get better!

not a bad spot to be in for wayne co. The boys just need go work hard now and show them ur better than that this fall
