Ravenwood will win and I don't think Arlington is even close. The Ravens will be the tallest order u guys have faced this season bar none! Not a fan I just followed these guys closely this year.

Bar none??? I don't think so. Ridgeway the potential 5a champions is the toughest team we've been playing... maybe you should watch the rematch between them and Henry cty....I think that winner wins state in 5a...

If Ravenwood beats WH, then they will have been the tallest order Da Haven has faced all year.....bar none. Correct?

I see no one wants to talk about this one... I enjoy Gloating. Obviously I'm alone with that one.

First and foremost Great game by the Arlington (Suburban) Tigers. Well fought game. Good Coaching too... With that out of the way...

We ALLOWED this game to be a game...

We started off hot as a Firecracker...

First Offensive Play, Deep pass TD (like we did MJ in 2011)...

Defensive 3 and Out...

Next possession #3 broke a long run on like the 2nd or 3rd play of the drive, TD...

Another Defensive 3 and Out (I believe, I had the Spirits before the game) ...

The next possession we were DRIVING and then the flags started  ...

The Flags should be expected but I HATE what it does to OUR rhythm! After the Beautiful Rhythm was broken, offensively we started making mistakes (turnovers, untimely penalties)... We had a muffed punt where we practically GAVE Arlington a TD... Arlington then actually had a decent drive and before you knew it a game that was Honestly on the verge of a 21 point plus BLOW OUT is a 14 all tie game!

People need to listen when I speak. I don't want credit. I want US to win!

Skill Players that wear SLEEVES have to pull them junts UP to their ELBOW!!! Jordan Williams mishandled a Shotgun Snap that I'm sure he could have caught with ease had his Big #### sleeves not been on his forearms... As I digress, Sloppy play by us made this game close. Da Haven was 3 TDs better but the Suburban Tigers were scrappy and had confidence after we had Snatched it from them at the start of the game... Either way, On to the next one.

Great TEAM win by Whitehaven. The coaching adjustments made during halftime were timely. I just believe Jordan Williams refuses to lose this year. I wish the margin of victory was wider (I want to see what type of youngsters we have) but its a reason why the Tigers keep playing these close, hard fought games games. Maybe it will ALL click this week against the Ravenwood Raptors. We shall see.

Come to the Ravenwood @ Whitehaven thread for some vintage BlackHavenSenator smack talk. They over there disrespecting ALREADY  :thumb:  :D

Yeah, first good game. Second, for all your trash talk, I bet you weren't smiling as we were driving to tie late in the 4th. 3 Tds is a joke...you know it and so do I. As far as those TOs in the 1st qtr..they amounted to nothing more than field position. We scored in the 2nd qtr 14 straight to tie the game and also scored 14 in the 2nd half. As for the flags, don't get me started. They held enough flags in that 1st qtr to cover 2 games. I make no excuses, we lost, but don't think this was our best performance of the year...it wasn't ...we made a ton of mistakes and paid for them. These teams were at about the same level.....I hope we get to play home and home soon...long term..yep, be fun to watch..good luck, I hope you guys win it all.

Same level... We were a stalled drive away from being up 21-0...

Oh Btw, Arlington's band played while Whitehaven had the ball... Guess what, NO ONE CARES cause that's a part of HS Football ^_^

No complaints. It wasn't classless. It simply is what it is.

So, normally we don't but it is well known your band does and you got what you give. As for the 21 and ...look, if we played perfect you don't score and we score every play. No one plays perfect, you are how you play..what else is there??? Edited by JamieWiley

From the FINAL score it looks like I was wrong about Arlington. I thought they were a very average team this year. My Millington Trojans would have spanked them if at 100%. I realize that Whitehaven didn't play well, but for Arlington to hang in there like they did that said a lot about the progress of their program and a glimpse at it's future. Good things are in store for Arlington. For a freshman qb to get the experience of starting a state quarterfinal game, It can do nothing but mature him beyond his years and act as a spring board for him and his team for the off-season program. I expect big things from Arlington in the next 3 years. They will make a serious run at the Gold Ball in the next 3 years. Whitehaven will snap and  clear and be ready for the Semis this weekend. I am eager to see them play well get the W and play Maryville for a state championship.

To borrow a phrase from KWC and the Senator....  RESPECT THE HAVEN!!!!!

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
