CCHSbasketball
Did they talk to all the other coaches from the other teams, because that is what it would have taken. The rules were set prior to the season by all the coaches. SMHS agreeing to allow an illegal player wouldn't have made it ok with everyone. I'm not sure that changing the rules because we don't like our circumstance is a good argument anyway. Starting a sick or injured kid just to have five is plain silly for a freshmen tournament. CCHSbasketball
Everyone has a right to their own opinion CCHSJetPride but not all parties involved felt it was silly. This group of boys have worked hard and why wouldn't every person involved not do everything they could to help them finish what they started. Alumn89
hey, haters gon hate... This is now 2 years in a row that warren and cookeville has met in the "finals". I know Warren and Cookeville also had at least 1 freshman not play b/c they are on varsity. Heard we had a kid drop 30 in that championship game too. Way to go Cavaliers! Alumn89
Yea I was aware of that. I thought that they had at least 3 sophs play in that game because of injuries to their freshmen, one of which is now starting on their varsity from what I'm told
Tenntwin
Yea I was aware of that. I thought that they had at least 3 sophs play in that game because of injuries to their freshmen, one of which is now starting on their varsity from what I'm told Alumn89, you are correct. CCHS did play 2 sophs (one Soph was hurt in December) during the JV game against Cookeville, but their main contributors are freshmen. The freshman that has been starting some lately played a quarter in that game back in December against Cookeville. He's hasn't played any JV games since then. Our 3 Sophs are getting better - I think because of playing with these freshmen players. Our freshmen (now Sophs) last year didn't win a game during the freshmen season - several of them quit and one transferred to Stone. This year, CCHS has 3 freshmen on Varsity and no Sophs. I wish we could get a Cookeville/CCHS freshmen game together. I watched the Cookeville team play twice this weekend - they have a good quality group.
