Let me all you a question. If we started charging $10 too get into Griders field could we afford that Rankin man then? I will pay that much to get into the game if Rankin is our coach. Grider needs to get the check book out and get this Rankin man. He is one of the best coaches in the state besides that Quarles man. He is always on top of Murphy's pole. You think im joking but im not.

Here's the rub....the conditions which led to Tim's resigning may lead to having to find not only a head coach, but also an entire staff.

So what is it all about then? Do you want a coach who lets players act crazy with no discipline and lose? And if fans are not coming to games after a few losses early in the season and not supporting

What kind of mess is this? You could give that Rankin man all the money from the gate and he wouldn't leave Alcoa for pitt. You think im joking but im not.

Still don't change the fact that he has resigned which was his own choice

tough situation to be put in. Resign because you let the parents win and you will always look like the coach that couldn't make it at SP, or get fired and then put the same quote in the paper that the program is going on a different direction than what he wanted. Just saying, tuck your tail and let outsiders win, or stand proud for what you believe and make them fire you. Same attitude of "go with the flow" and not have a backbone is what was seen on the field as a coach. I know it hurts some, but I am entitled to my opinion. I'm not bashing, just stating my opinion. Maybe his hands were tied more than we know. I mean, all this did happen after Grider left. Ultimately Grider is still in control of the SP athletic tradition being he is the athletic director. I don't believe Vic would allow this to continue. Maybe I'm a fool too though. Edited by PiRaTe._.MiKe

Did anybody on here say you wasn't entitled to your opinion?? Surely not. I mean if you tell them what they don't want to hear your considered a trouble maker. Maybe I need some of all the vast wisdom and knowledge on here to explain it to me, on how telling the truth is being a trouble maker?

I guess I'm suppose to be politically correct and stand by and give slaps on the back for mediocrity, and pray it will turn around when we all know deep down inside its time to go another direction.

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
