I saw that P&G. I was surprised by that to be honest. I don't know why Trenton would be mentioned because we have beaten them solidly the past two years. Some people just don't like seeing success. It must be frustrating to have no chance at being anything other than a obscure mark on the map of Tn. It's really bad when you have to hijack another thread because no one gives a crap about your team so you just bust out on a thread where you know you are not wanted and end up making yourself look like the ignorant red neck that folks all ready believe you are.

For the ones who return and wasn't starters they know what it takes to be champions, they have practiced against state champions for two years!

I knew you were laying in the wings.I love hijacking UC threads.Going to be a tough season.LC plays Halls,Dresden,Trenton,West Carrol,McKenzie,Union City.Don't know if we can beat any of those teams.I know overall,we pretty well play the same teams but we are the basic little town trying to win a few games.

to YOU " mrbigster" !   I am so very sorry you are who you are.  It is ashame you have to look past the success of your own program to trash another.  What does it take mrbigster...what does it take.  Union City proves basically year after year how they dominate your green and yellow falcons.  You for some reason can't accept the fact that Union City has what it has.  Deal with it sir.  It ain't gonna change !!!   I know Lake county will be decent but a one man show can't handle a "team" ( 11 players ) who play hard.  I am not going to argue with you.  You have taken me away from shinning our "back to back" GOLD footballs so I will get back to what I was doing.  And in the mean time....go float down the river over there and think about good times in life...not trying to trash a success that is proven and your team was in the way of the "proven fact"  Til Friday night lights turn on....practice hard buddy...your team is gonna need it !

Purple,Swo and now you UC.I figured it was about time to get the UC faithful going.Where did I trash a team or UC.For real.Are you saying because I said it was a joke they are supposedely the number 14 team in the nation by some poll.Is that it.Just because I dont think they are the number 14 team ,that doesnt mean I trashed them .UC has had some great teams.And are the best in the State until proven otherwise.But in the nation.That's a lot of teams and a lot of states.I would bet most everyone doesn't think they are that good.And I was just saying that if they are number 14 in the nation then I think Trenton would be also.I know UC beat Trenton but I think with all Trenton has returning,they may be the team to beat.I'm not sold on UC being as good as the past 2 years.Am I wrong.Maybe.But we'll see.And I'm not trashing UC.

What's the Union City faithful feel about this 2015 team?

Ambassador man I think we will be back in the mix again. I'm not saying we will get back to Cookeville but we have the right mix to give it a run. I've watched a couple of practices and we look the same. The only difference is that this team is more aggressive. But there is too much football to be played to get overly confident right now. I'm looking forward to getting started.

Bigster the poll was for small schools. Not out of every school. I don't know how much stock I put into that either but it was unapproved website. I would call bull malarkey if it was for all schools in the nation. With it being for small schools. ........I'm willing to consider the possibility. Either way it's just a poll. Itdoesn't mean a thing.

Anyway,UC ,Swo.Wasn't trashing UC.I said I was going to try to do better this year..lol..For real,back in time,Lake Co had some good Single a teams.I use to get a gauge on the type team Lake Co was going to have by what we did against ECS ,private school out of Memphis..It shifted to UC the past 10 years or so.Not that Lake co had to win,but if we didnt get blown out and maybe a 14-7 ,then I thought Lake Co was going to have a good season.Now we are playing last game of the season so not so much now.I admit.Union City has had some great teams .

Well our boys are on their way home from a week of football camp and finished up the week in a 3 way scrimmage in Waverly that included Wayne County. Reports are that the first team did very well against the opposing first teams on both sides of the ball. I'm sure our boys are ready to sleep in their own beds and have some down time. I know I'm looking forward to seeing my boy and hearing about the week they had. Looks like a good start for the Tornadoes. Come on kickoff time.

I hope the QB is ok. It looked like he went down with a knee injury.

      OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.

      They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.

      The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.

      I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
