Kaleb is currently being a college student although I have heard that his competitive drive may be coming back around after a little time away. Time will tell.

 

Yes he was one of the best I have seen. Worked extremely hard and had a lot of passion for it.

The Father Ryan Tournament isnt nearly as tough as it used to be back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Why arent any division 1 programs attending this year? Wish bradley or soddy would come up that would make this tournament much tougher and much more interesting. Any thoughts?

GP West is the same weekend. This has been a much tougher tournament the last couple years because it is a big time when D1 top guys get to see D2 top guys. The fact that they are now on the same day causes teams to chose between them and who can blame them for choosing the one where the kids can get the best competition.

There is a clear difference in competition level, if you look below you will see teams from each tournament. This sums up why people would chose GP West over Father Ryan. Both are great tournaments however, Father Ryan has declined in previous years and having these two events on the same day will not help their cause.

The Ryan tournament most years has been the first weekend in January; however, I see that Ryan is going to the POWERade Wrestling Tournament in PA at the end of December.  Is this why they moved their tournament date?  Usually they have it the first weekend in January and Brentwood has their tournament the next weekend.  This has created a logjam of tournaments in Nashville.
