Notre Dame could really be a spoiler here. They look somewhat like the Greeneville team from 2 years ago. Will have to see how it plays out, but my picks are:

Round 1:

Pigeon Forge over MLK

Alcoa over Notre Dame (closer than most believe)

Hixson over Forrest

Greeneville over Greenbrier

Consols Round 1:

Notre Dame over MLK

Forrest over Greenbrier

Champ Semis:

Pigeon Forge over Alcoa

Hixson over Greeneville

Consol Semis:

Greeneville over Notre Dame

Alcoa over Forrest

Championship:

Pigeon Forge over Hixson

Consol Finals:

Greeneville over Alcoa (could go either way)

Having wrestled both Alcoa and Greenville, I don't see Greenville beating Alcoa. I also don't see Greenville beating N.D.

Luckily they don't advance on how they matched up against your team. Not all teams match up well against everyone - except maybe Pigeon Forge. Anyway they are my picks and I said Greeneville / Alcoa was a toss up - I have the match +/- 3 points either way. Notre Dame and Greeneville is close but that match should be decided from 182 to 285. If Greeneville doesn't score big there they don't win and paper match-ups favor GHS I believe.

Also to note Greeneville never peaks and wrestles a full team it seems until end of the regular season.

Tc56 I was just giving my opinion of what I have recently seen out of all three teams. Greenville is not as strong as they once were in my opinion. Do agree that pigeon forge wins it all,but we will we this weekend.

Understood and all I did was give my opinion of how match ups vary. Greeneville is probably a year away of being where they were two years ago but they are still very much in the mix IMO.

I don't think Greeneville has had a completely full team at any events up until near the end of the season. Will be interesting to see their matchup against Hixon if both teams advance. Peaking at the right time is important. But, I wouldn't count any match against them earlier in the year since at least 7 guys in their lineup have moved (maybe more). Will be a fun weekend. Good luck and safe travels to all.

    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
    • Interesting read in the fish wrap about why the baseball coach quit. No help with administrative duties. IMO Not a good look for the administration, especially the AD. What in tarnation is going on up there?
