UNION CITY VS. HAMPTON: CLASS A STATE QUARTERFINALS

Okay, I go to put this in here. Back in 83, Hampton made it to State with a record of 18-13. As a reward, they got to play the #1 team in the state, Houston County, in the opening round. Hampton won that game by 6 or 8. Just because you have the ranking, doesn't make you invincible. In 92, Hampton was the highest ranked team left after the sub-state round at #2, and we were ousted in the semis. Humility is a great trait, something I haven't seen too much of on this thread from certain UC people. I know all schools have fans like them, but they give a school a BAD image.

As I recall, nobody on here ever said Hampton would win. All they have said was the team would come and play hard. Hampton has a very proud tradition of their own, they don't have to bow down to anybody.

The way I see it is there are 734 high schools in tn. 24 are all that remain at this point. Both teams have a right to be proud. I know we are definitely the underdog here. Union city fans should be proud of their accomplishments and history. You guys don't know how bad many of those 734 schools envy you guys. You all routinely have great teams where the rest of us hope to have one of those years every 15 years. Any time we have a team that can compete with you guys we are very excited. You all might win 9 out of 10 times we play, but there is always a "chance". We are proud of our boys and you all shod be too. But please do not belittle us or expect us to just lay down. We will give it our all and let the chips fall where they may. Be proud, not arrogant.

I've seen the following from UC fans. "I don't have to respect anyone on here.." "Beat us and then you will have our respect." I thought you all had been there before? I hope the coaches and players have a better attitude than the fans. Be humble in victory, praiseworthy in defeat.

I am a UC fan and I would be crazy if I didn't brag on our players. Anyone going to the state tourney should be proud. I hope all the seniors graduate on all the teams and go on to do great things in their life. Good luck to all and I do mean it.

Union city would go undefeated every year in the regular season if they had hamptons schedule. If they play 100 times Union city will win by double digits 100 times. Get ready for beatdown
