Oakdale lost big to Maryville. Oakdale now sits at 4-3, with losses to Clarkrange, Maryville, and Livingston. Oakdale has beaten Mt. Pisgah, Monterey, Clinton, and Knox West.

The biggest surprise from the Lady Eagles so far is the play of Macayla Davidson. Davidson is averaging 13.4ppg so far, with 3 18+ point games. Take away the 4-point game against Maryville, and she's been on fire. Combined with Everett and Coffey, Oakdale has a chance to make some noise.

My District rankings as of Thanksgiving:

1. Oneida

2. Wartburg

3. Oakdale

4. Coalfield

5. OS

6-7. Sunbright-Jellico

(Feel free to debate)

Who is coaching Oakdale girls this year?

Also, I haven't gotten to many games yet this year, but what is the reasoning for OS having only 1 win so far?  Tough schedule?  Missing the twins?

Fred Snow is still at Oakdale. After a lot of debate this summer, it was decided that he can still work at Central Office and coach.

This is the first time in about 10 years that OS doesn't have a stud (or two) on the team. They have talent, but not the district-champion talent that they usually have every single year. They have played an above-average schedule so far, but last year's team would definitely have more than one win at this point. They finally look human again. However, Michelle will have them ready at tournament time.

OS did nothing different or special. They played good, ole fashioned defense and pressured Oakdale's guards like crazy about 25ft out. Oakdale couldn't get anything going. Their offense is designed to work from the high post, and they couldn't get the ball in to Coffey.

This was a "bad" looking game. OS didn't look great, but they made Oakdale play worse.

Goose.....you got Wartburg pegged at #2 which makes the Tuesday game against Oneida the first big match-up of the season.  How has the Lady Bulldogs fared so far....Oneida has had a tough early schedule playing some serious competition (Granger, Union Co., Campbell Co.) and they were all on the road.  They have been in just about every game but have not sprung any upsets.  I think they are 4-5, maybe 5-5?  Should be a good game down in Wartburg....!  Who you got winning this one?

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
