Hold up. DB fans told me two years ago, after the SH loss, that was the worst team ever. Then they told me last year, after 2 more losses to SH, that was their worst team ever. If they lose to the Toppers again this year, I'm sure they'll say this year's team is the worst ever. Now you're saying it was the 2009 team? So which is it? You all need to get together and make up your minds about which Indians team was the worst.

Nov. 3, 2006 - 5A Playoffs 1st Round

William Blount (6-4) - 13

DB (10-0) - 10

I've already explained this but I will explain it again. That 6-4 WB team had lost 3 of those games by a TD or less. One of those was a 1 point loss to a very strong Farragut team that went to the 3rd round and another was a very controversial 4 point loss to an Ooltewah team that made it all the way to the semifinals and barely lost to the eventual state champion Smyrna. The reality was we were 7-3 but got hosed by the refs in Ooltewah. Of those 4 losses only one was by more than a TD. And that 34-10 loss was to Maryville! A team that ultimately won the 4A state title that year. So 3 of the 4 losses were to teams that made it to and won state (Maryville), the semifinals (Ooltewah), and The Quarterfinals (Farragut). Say what you want but WB was just a stronger team than DB that year. We just had a worse record because we were up against tougher competition. Edited by Governors91

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
