I can say this because I heard it with my own ears. The GC coaches told the MC coaching staff that they appreciated them for how we handled the game. They are young and inexperienced and with us putting the young guys in so early it gave them chances to compete on the same level and build some confidence. They shook every coaches hand and said "if it had been your neighbors it would have been a different game. They wouldn't have pulled starters so early." Take that how you want but that was from the GC coaching staff.

I garuntee you must be a durn coach or was hanging out in that Ross mans back pocket to be able to hear they conversation. Did you go by dime of them their sonar ears at Walmart? Grider never scored 41 in the first quarter on that Bryant man. I garuntee you them Grundy purple wish they had that Bryant man back. You think im joking but im not.

Roy, SP folkes knows if Grider had played Grundy and scored. 41 points in the 1st qtr, them Jasperlites would lit up coacht. Old Pirate is confident the reserves did play after the 1st qtr, Fact 1. No one has confirmed they heard the coaches instruct the reserves not to score as well they shouldn't. Fact 2. Starters missing so much playing may hurt this week. OP's point is The Captain has not run the score in most cases, sometimes teams are really not good and in Jasper's situation it served the youth well by getting to play. Unfortunately smaller schools with very limited numbers do not have the same advantage. Old Pirate hasn't read every post regarding Jasper's game with GC but hopefully the Jasperlites will learn to recognize more of the reserves and show acknowledgement of their contribution. Point here is all.....fan bases should do this!

Congrats! South Pittsburg and Marion County (Jasper) has proven they have the most idiotic fans in the area. Same guys on here are likely the same guys on Facebook making cute pictures all the time poking fun at each other. Seldom do any pop off that actually played. Most were cheerleaders while in school and still are now. I figured I would throw my two cents in before this one disappears. I've seen both play this year and South Pittsburg is very young but they play hard. Bright future but the rebuild will take a couple years because the Jr and Sr classes are low on numbers. 7-10th has a lot of talent though so Pirares won't be down long. Marion is a VERY good team and Walters makes them go on offense. I personally don't think SP has a chance against them this year. Tyner and then Boyd can beat them but both should be good games but they definitely have it going under Ross. The Warrior nation will get to break out their lettermans jackets, brag and boast more than Bama fans for at least another year. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘

Jury still out on these match-ups..MC plays @ Boyd; Boyd plays @ Tyner; Tyner plays @ MC

Should be good games!!

These are the marquis match ups for sure this season! Meigs is also a player! I am excited to see how it all plays out! Tyner, with their 27 seniors will be hard to deal with! Coach Turner is a quality leader for this group of young men!

Not to be off topic but absolutely Meigs is in the equation for this Region. Didn't mean to hi-jack this thread but a lot will

figure into the 4 teams representing 3-2A.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
