Riverdale - Blackman First Region Challenge What Are The Keys To a Win?

This Riverdale team has to find their identity. They seem to want to force the run with a weak O line with no success but when they open it up they could probably have one of the best depth threat combinations in the state. More play action would be good. The new QB can pass with the best of them. Coaches need to give him a chance. The deep ball will open up the run. He was 2 of 3 on deep balls for TD's last week both over 60 yards. I hope this coaching staff is watching film.

This week's "Backyard Brawl" is one of the candidates for the Titans' Game of the Week - winning coach wins their program $1,000!   Game is decided by online voting:

As they said in Chicago, vote often!  Tell friends!

See everyone Friday at Blackman....

As of a few moments ago it was 55/ 44%  union city game over Riverdale vs Blackman with 33k votes casted if the student body from each school votes twice it should give the nod to Riverdale vs Blackman by about 4k votes

Not sure on this one both teams have a lot of work to do! I think both teams better get their defensive backfield much improved! I think the team with the most passing yards without any TO's wins the game b/c both Olines are struggling!

Blackman had a stud senior running back. Putting up some solid numbers behind that suspect O-line though. Read that in the DNJ this morning. Could be the difference in this game. My prediction is Blackman by a score. Good luck to both teams. Hope it's injury free.

I thought Riverdale was down a running back that was injured in the jamboree

Yes Jerry was the running back that was supposed to be the starting back this year . He has a torn ACL and is out for the season a family friend said. Canaan Owens is not only the starting linebacker and Tight end, but he is also the punter, I understand. When it all falls on ones shoulders that stinks when you have to scramble to replace.

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
