Indy at Stewie

Stewie doesn't have the speed to keep up with Shelbyville. And I doubt if Shelbyville can keep up with Ind

Lol... REALLY ... You think SC doesn't have speed? Rude awakening for shelbyville in a couple weeks. Speed has not been a problem. Shelbyville has played NOBODY so far. We will see what happens with Indy. Interesting to me that Stewie holds Overton to 8 and they score 40 plus against the rest of their schedule.... Recon Overton had "speed"? Just sayin....

Shelbyville beat LaVergne, whom took down SC earlier in the season

True.... Shelbyville did take down Lavergne

But you had to see to know what happened with SC. Lavergne is good... So shelbyville haS played one team .... But they aren't Lavergne. I don't expect anyone outside Rutherford county to understand Rutherford county football. Shelbyville got lucky ... Lavergne coming off of an emotional win....

Week in and week out Shelbyville just flat hasn't played anyone else. Look at the opponents records and history.

Just sayin

I was born, raised, and still live in Rutherford County so not sure what your getting at. There is no such thing as luck in sports. The good programs win all the time after a win over a rival.

Previous poster is wrong saying SC has no speed, but your equally at fault too for trying to downplay Shelbyville. They have one of the best backfields in the state that no one talks about and a HC who can coach circles around LaVergne's HC

While Stewarts creek has come along way in 4 years and is building a good program there , it will not match up speed or strength very well with Indy this go round. With the return of Bunch and Nate Johnson(#2) I believe that Stewarts Creek gets boat raced  this game as Indy looks to solidify they are the team to beat.

two small corrections...

Stewie just started their 3rd year, not 4th.  Overton was held to 17 by McGavock but it was in nasty weather conditions.

After Indy wins this games, Stewie will need to win 2 of the last three to be safe on getting a playoff spot.  Shelbyville, Summit, and the senior night home finale vs. Lincoln County with possibly everything on the line...winning season, playoffs, etc.

I think they can get the wins over Summitt and LC to just make it.  This is with the knowledge that LC is far improved over what they had for a while there.

Wow in 3 years??? That is very impressive.!! They should win out after this game or at minimum 2 of 3 . Making the playoffs ony 3 years after the launch of the program is huge. Good luck Red Hawks!

LaVergne had a terrible week of practice Shelbyville week and it showed against the Eagles. Had the same problem with Maplewood luckily just too many athletes! Between their vanilla offense (5 or 6 plays over and over) and their terrible Oline play the last two weeks I kinda understand ur coaching comments. The Defense also was terrible in the Shelbyville game their Qb had to much time to throw the ball hardly any rush, the running game didn't hurt us at all!The Wolverines should dominate Summit Friday then they have a week off to get ready to make a run into the playoffs! But they have alot to do if they want to go far into the playoffs! My thoughts for the Red Hawks put someone in the Eagles backfield chasing the Qb all night he'll throw it up if u get him running that's ur best chance at winning! Good luck SC I hope u guys pull the upset!

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
