Morristown West at Sevier County (MyVLT game)

SC won't be able to stop Delaney. And good running team will give them issues, and I saw West in the scrimmage against us in the summer, and they have a QB who can sling it pretty good also. Put pressure on Wallace and hit him early and often like we did when we played them. He's a tough hombre, but like most any QB if he is pressured he gets rattled. Go West. Personally, if I was SC coach Banks would get a lot more carries. He's a threat to break one every time he touches it. We limited him, except for 1 long run, but if he gets free there isn't anybody who will catch him.

Banks is my only real concern outside Sevier County's passing attack. Oak Ridge seemed to have their way with SC though.

We did, yes. That final score is pretty misleading IMO. We physically beat them, especially our D. We pounded Wallace all night. I'm pretty sure he was hurting the day after that game. Without that fumble on the punt return on our own 1 yard line, that game is probably not close, with all due respect to SC.

I was watching it on TV. The score was a lot closer than the game was.

I think the Trojans are hungry to get over the hump and finally get the W against Sevier Co.  I think the key to the win for West is staying aggressive on defense, getting in the QBs face and not giving him time to scan downfield.  They've lived in the opponents backfield all season and I don't think this game should be any different  What they do need to watch out for is the quick hitter passes, if they send 5 or 6 Sevier's athletes could turn a 3 yard pass into a 15 yarder really quick.  Overall I think the Trojans stay strong on D and generate enough offense to get the win.  24-17 West.

Morristown West should win this game by 2+ TDs. Sevier County is a good football team, but I think Morristown West is one of the better football teams in the entire state. The Trojans should honestly be undefeated right now. Their only loss being a 3 point loss to the Fulton Falcons. But they absolutely should have won that game. Regardless, Morristown West hasn't lost since. They've notched two really impressive wins against Greeneville & Knox Central during that stretch.

Meanwhile, Sevier County's only decent win would be an early-season 3 point win against Knox West. They have since lost to Oak Ridge & a very bad Dobyns-Bennett football team.

I also find it ironic/interesting that Morristown West has two football players committed to FCS colleges that IMO are better football players than the two SEC commitment players that play for Sevier County. I could be totally wrong on that & the two Sevier County players could become great college athletes, but right now I have been more impressed with the Morristown West players from a high school standpoint.

Morristown West: 34

Sevier County:     21

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
