thetruth2008
And you obviously can't read. I said no player HAS transfered. When did I say one has? But it's gonna happen, bank on it.
BooWhoWiseMan
For private schools like CPA that do not offer tuition assistance for athletes, the athlete must live within a 25 mile radius of the school. This was told to me by someone that explored sending their son there to play. This allows CPA and schools like them to compete in the same division as the public schools. So what you have is enough parents that can afford the $16,000 + a year tuition, and live within the school zone, that send their kid there. They play for a winning team, get a better education, and top notch coaches. It is completely fair and above board, and those schools are closely watched by TSSAA to make sure they comply with the requirements. Most of those kids will not play at the next level, so it's not like they are loaded with superstars. They are however, very well coached, and that is the main reason they win so many games. Edit, I think 20 miles is correct for the radius. And they allow them to work study to pay for it. Straight from BGA coaches mouth. They also hold camps to get kids on campus. So again an unfair advantage for them.

Again, BGA is not in the same private school division as CPA, and BGA doesn't compete for state championships against public schools. Private schools are not all the same. There are 2 divisions and they have different requirements. Anyone can pay and go to BGA and play. Not so at CPA. bobcatdefense
Why don't you guys get your own thread and argue on it. I only want to read about GCHS and the new coach.
LCgrad
Point taken bobcatd. That's what we all want to know. I have an inside ear, but no news today. Maybe the offer is out and the committee has been sequestered until it's official.

Lead
When did I say one has? But it's gonna happen, bank on it.You said the player I talked to wasn't informed! Apparently he was correct that someone hasn't transfered. They may in the future but at that time there wasn't any. Don't try and twist my words around to suit you. The last search we thought Covington coach and Wayne county coach were going to be the new one and they changed there minds. Anybody heard if that happened again? BIGPURPLEMACHINE
So in you own words it is cheaper for the open zone public schools to recruit than it is for schools like BGA, CPA You did not see me say recruit in the open zone part. But I did say transfer following TSSAA rules and recruiting would be a violation of those rules. But yes it is cheaper to attend those schools. BIGPURPLEMACHINE
I thought there was some rule like 20 mile radius but maybe that is just for transfers For a student that attends a private school once they have started high school athletics, if they wish to transfer to another institution they must sit out one calendar year in sports if the move is not to an institution outside a 25 mile radius. GeneralForrest
if that's true about Forrest not being allowed to accept transferred kids I'll be cool with organizing a riot when I return from Elizabethton
