I know it might not be the rule, but if I was an official, I would not throw a flag on a hold unless it affected the play. I've seen flags thrown ten yards behind the play when the runner was almost at the goal line. I believe there are some officials who just want to get in the ballgame.

I can agree with you somewhat, I hate when a hold is called away from the ball and don't effect the play but at the same time it's still a hold and the young men that are holding need to learn not to do it. And I'm not talking about NCS but every team, I've seen it called many times and we all get mad. But if the refs let it go then call it the next play when the ball is close by then the kids ain't learning nothing. Edited November 19, 2015 by wildcat89

It has been a little ridiculous! Im sure they dont keep track, but we might have set a record for the most called back TDs in TN HS football this year.

Poor coaching
