MSURacer
Yeah, what was it, 55ish teams per class? No more than 60 I'm sure. Right around there. I believe 5A was the largest with 58.
Solomon
I'm in favor of going to 4 classifications for all sports, personally. I think the state has long outgrown 3, but is way too watered down with 6. Preach. I've been saying it for years.

YouvebeenTebowed
In my opinion I believe if a team decides to play up (maryville) then no one should drop down. If they are put in a certain classification then they should stay unless they want to play up. No team should be allowed to play down no matter what classification. GoPats2019
Would Maryville be in the top 48? I haven't checked the figures. Maryville was the 40th largest school based on 2015 enrollment figures.
GoPats2019
Stewarts Creek & LaVergne will both be in the Super 32 (6A) when reclassification is done before the 2017. Ravenwood will drop to 5A (Nolensville opening fall 2016) Centennial which is on the cusp of 6A will remain in 5A. (Nolensville opening fall 2016) I would be willing to bet Cain Ridge and Farragut both move to 6A in 2017.
raider99
Yes... There shouldn't be an option to move down.. To me that goes against even having a Top 32... Warren Co/Coffee Co wouldn't want to move down because I doubt they would sniff the playoffs in 5A either.. Could you imagine the 5A state title game this year? Indy vs Maryville.. That's why I say take the Top 48 since Maryville wants to be in 6A, with their enrollment they would be in 6 of you take 16 more teams On most I would agree, but coffee would have this past season, they had a team that could have, looks like they could again this next season if they were in 5A, but for the most part they have had little success in the win column, the new coach is competition driven and he has these boys working hard, he wouldn't want to move down regardless Edited April 2, 2016 by raider99
