He wasn't wrong, I've seen post calling them a 4A team playing in 2A. Even some saying they running from Alcoa, even though they have not been in Alcoa's class.

Yes, I am the hater.  A school that played in the 4A state championship last year decides it should move down to 2A.  That really makes a lot of sense.  They have over 800 kids at that school now.  The school is huge and it has two gyms.  They get all of North Memphis kids from Georgia Hills and there are no other high schools in that area that those kids would want to go too.  (Northside, MLK Prep, MAHS).  So guess where all the kids go too.   Yes it is Treasvant.  So i have absolutely no respect for a team that should be playing 5A is sitting in a 2A.  There was not even a need to have a first round, second round, or even a quarterfinal match up with those teams.  It was a backward cake walk to the semi finals.   But all schools lie about their numbers.  RIdgeway, Melrose, East and more.  If those big schools only have the numbers that they are saying, than they need to combine these schools.

I've talked trash on here but the reality is I think each team should play where the rules say they should. For example the "real" scary 2a team is Alcoa. I don't know if we could ever beat them but I'd like to find out.

Trezevant has a 2A enrollment, even when they played in the 4A championship, they had 2A numbers. Now, I don't know what their true numbers are, I doubt they are lying about there numbers. Unless, they turn different numbers in than they do to the government because you get so much money per student. I doubt they would take that big of a hit. Memphis East had always played up a classification for the last few years and this year they came down to the class they have numbers for. But I remember them trying to combine schools a few years back in Memphis. They said some schools were operating at around 25 to 30 percent capacity. But, they had a big push back by the citizens that didn't want their community schools closed. So, they left a lot of them open. Just because a school is big and can hold a lot of students, doesn't mean they have that many. Plus, all the charters that have open up in Memphis with the No Child Left Behind, a lot of these schools have lost a lot of kids.

Most inner city schools are in this boat also. The few that are not are mostly optional schools, (Whitehaven, Central, and Overton). The better student leaves their neighborhood schools to attend them optional schools. What is so amazing at Mitchell is that the top students are mostly the athletes. That is why I am soooooo proud of Coach White. Trezevant is located in the heart of North Memphis.  After the 2010 game in Cookeville he transformed the mindset of his program. I always pull for Memphis teams but I am sending up extra prayers for this team.

You do not turn your numbers in. The state looks at what you upload in the district system. If a student is in your school he cannot be hid and not counted. “It is what it isâ€
