Whitehaven boys 4x100 track team finished 10th overall out of 7 heats in the Nationals in NC. They were 3rd in they're heat and are now ranked 10th in the nation...and they wonder why I love my school!!! Respect da haven

The 'Black Lives Matter' protest shut down the Tennessee-Arkansas bridge for a while last night. Nothing violent, thank God, but the protesters were out in NUMBERS.

Well, as of July 7, 2016, according to the Whitehaven Football twitter account, the number of players on the 2016 Whitehaven High School football team to receive a scholarship offers to play football in college has gone up to 13!

Well, let's just see what happens. I know nothing will be fixed overnight because it is a NATIONAL issue. However, let's see what happens locally before making any judgments. Let's give folk a chance to respond. Negativity has never gotten us anywhere as a nation anyway. Let's try a positive approach.

 

Besides ... my faith isn't in folk. My faith is in Jesus. He's the only one who can fix this mess. According to HIS standards ... I'm suppose to pray for all of my leaders and those in authority, so that I can live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty, so, ... I have work to do because that isn't a one time thing. It's a daily thing. So as this great nation tries to get this right ... I have to do my part and get on my daily prayer grind to help with the process.

Whitehaven's 2016-2017 Football schedule is in the link below. I like that we are traveling back to Florence Alabama again. I'm seriously contemplating catching the charter bus to Florence this year. Five home games and five away games. Non-region games against Mitchell in the annual Whitehaven Classic, @ Florence, AL., and vs. Ridgeway @ Halle. I'm looking forward to traveling to Arlington and Cordova this season. This will be my first visit to both of those facilities.

We have a nicely placed bye week. The only games that should give us trouble in the area are Ridgeway (I assume that they have some talent coming back) and White Station due to the rivalry factor... I would like to take the trip to Florence but we'll see how things shake out with that. Injuries, if kept to a minimum, should allow us to go into the Playoffs with 1 or less Ls. The upcoming MUS scrimmage will tell the tale of how good we can be, imho.
