best basketball official

Who are some of the best basketball official's that work out of the Nashville area.

Steve Chauncey, Brad Fraiser, Chuck Arnold, Frank Johnson to name a few. Of course theres more but those are just some off the top of my head.

Brad Vierra, Eddie Tidwell, and Nick Kinzer. Vierra is an excellent young official who we will not see at our level much longer.

We had another good one today who said he moved into Nashville area recently, named Matt Sykes.

 

Lets turn this around too.................who do you guys feel are the worst in our area?

If this is the only list that we can come up with, there must not be very many good official's here. I have seen some good one's, but I am not sure what their name's are. I am thinking about being an official and would like to watch and talk to some of the better ones.

Well it matters what TEAM you Play for-alot of these so-call OFFICALs are very BIAS!!!!!???????

DON HARRIS.

Understands that people come to games to see kids play, not him officiate. Good rapport with players and coaches, yet very businesslike and professional. Often you won't even notice he's there.

In Chattanooga there is only one name -- Bill Soffe.

I know in West Tennessee any time you have Chuck Patton calling your game you know it will be done right.

 

For the most part officials in our area do a good job considering all the garbage they have to listen too night in and night out.

I agree with you OTIS, Don Harris is a very good official and a good man. It helps when you have someone who understands the coaches perspective because they have been there.

I really think it would help all of us who coach to try officiating at some level, I think it will indirectly help you to become a better coach.

Billy Fellman does an excellent job of officiating games. He works well with any partner, no matter what the quality of that official. He officiates college level competition and has worked at the state tournament. This is not to mention the fact that he is scheduled for more HS games this year than almost any other official. Keep up the the good work Billy!!

Bobby Ferrell is an excellent ref with great eyesight(20-20) and good vision of the court. He never misses a call. He should be in the NBA
