RebRaider85
Well I hear Coach Norris has put in for the open HC job at Gate City. I thought he'd probably go back to Dobyns-Bennett when North closed but GC has great tradition and a small town atmosphere. He'd probably be drawing a lot of students across the state line from Bloomingdale to GC as well because those people are up in arms about having to send kids to high school out by the airport when that school opens in 2019 or 2020. You Hampton guys ought to try to pick up Gate City after South turns into a middle school at that same time. They will be looking for an open game and Hampton will also at the same time. That would be a fantastic series. Not sure what North would look like without Norris at the helm. A lot of assistants would probably try to go with him. Heard that there were a lot of applicants for the job though and Norris may be staying put. We'll know in about a month.
uknoit2
Reb, I'd like to see a Hampton/GC FB game myself. The basketball games between these two are usually heated
Pudding
Got me Pal's and stopped by after work to see the Rebels scrimmage the Golden Raiders. No doubt in this old geeser's mind who should be coaching the new Sullivan County school when built. The Raiders laid the wood to the Rebs. Norris outcoached the Rebs, big time. Does Upward have football now? Wow, how the schemes at South have fallen off the table. Worst play calling and execution in the history of the school. The Raiders running and throwing and three steps ahead of the Rebs all night. Congrats Raiders. Congrats in finding another gear as the writing is on the wall for schools combining. The South coaches seem to be just giving up. As I plan out my Friday nights this year, doubt I'll make it over to see the Pactolus boys. RebRaider85
I heard the same thing from a Raider friend earlier tonight. It will be interesting to see how things play out this year.

Not much of a South fan if you are giving up after 1 SCRIMMAGE Pudding. I don't remember you making a post like this about North the last 2 times we played them in an actual game. South is young and missed several tackles but from what I understand that's what a scrimmage is for.
Pudding
Gunner, im not a "Raider fan". sshsfan, I've never been a Rebel homer either. I have no ties to this area or any schools. I admit I have followed South closer since the Phillips days and for several years after. They were so wide open and fun to watch. North was just run left, run right, and I didn't watch so much. I try to watch the matchups that interest me. So, sshsfan, I haven't given up on anyone. It's your team. I do wish they played a lot more downfield, and I wish the Rebs coaches hadn't found Gate City's playbook. Yawn. My poorly worded thoughts, were not abut the kids, make no mistake there. They were an observation of of the coaching. I'm told there's a ton of talent there. Just not being used it seems. I do wish the Rebs and Raiders a good 2016. I just don't think I want to attend their games and watch, as I said, Gate City. Edited August 9, 2016 by Pudding
