alumnicoach85
Didn't I say earlier today that on any given night you can be beat. Crockett beat Dyersburg, after Dyersburg had blowed them out twice in regular season.

alumnicoach85
The difference between the first two games and last night is Welch did not play. No matter if Welch, played or not, my statement was that any team can get beat on any night. It's not 1 dominant team in AA basketball. Coaches going every night thinking they have a legit chance to win.
Bkbfan4ever
There is no dominant team in AA this year I agree but Crocket is a much better team with Welch and would not have beaten Westview or Dyersburg without him. I think Crocket and Dyersburg will beat FW and SS and meet in region finals
tnrazrbac
Dyersburg goes down in overtime. Crockett missed a lot of free throws and if not the game wouldn't have even gone to overtime. Also never seen the call made on the last Crockett free throw, would love to hear the explanation on that one. heard the kid received the ball and stepped out of the free throw circle.(lane violation)
tnrazrbac
Saturday will be very interesting. I think is going to come down to how the officials are calling the game and who can use that in their advantage. They should be from Memphis area if i am not mistaken. so that usually means more hand checking is allowed. big question is the interior game and what 's allowed and not. could be interesting if FW wins tonight they play Westview. i think Jackson dominates. If Southside wins i think the post play for SS is way too much for Westview. On the other hand SS loses then they play Obion who has some size to off set them. then it comes down to guard play. I know Obion is hit and miss with their young guards not sure about SS. I think if FW loses the pose a difficult match up with Obion. so question is who do you want to play the big guys (Obion) are the guards (Westview). the other 2 games i think Dyersburg is now really mad and Crockett is starting to get on a roll. RealisticFan45
Nice reads! Welch is a beast and I agree, Crockett is much better with him on the floor. 4 year starter if I am not mistaken has the refuse to lose mentality. I think SS beats FW tonight if they have made adjustments to FW packed zone defense. SS inside game is hard to stop. On the flip side if FW pulls it out the region matchups get interesting. SS guards was mentioned. McBride is one of the better guards in the area so I think he will hold his own against either team. I'll be there early tonight! FW and SS has become the new rivalry
RealisticFan45
I agree you need to stay away from Dyersburg as long as possible. they shoot the mess out of the 3 ball. I believe though with the right guard play they can be beat. you need to try and shut down a couple of them and pray the others don't get hot... But Westview is hurting on the inside lost the big 6'5 kid. he is not much of a scorer but rebounds good and helps on def. Obion county is struggling with keeping their big out of foul trouble. if they can ever get into sync for a game or 2 they could be hard to handle. I think FW may beat SS just because TSSAA has given them a reason to prove everyone wrong. The key this time of year is getting to play at home. FW has nothing to prove because the ineligible kid was not an impact player. So they didnt lose anything major
ForkedDeerTrojan
I said last week not to discredit Crockett. Before the Welch injury, they were #7 in the state and 19-1. They went 4-4 without him. Now they've taken down Westview and Dburg back to back with him back on the floor. Not to be overshadowed by Welch's dominant performance, Dburg had to handle foul trouble for the first time in as long as I can remember. At the end of regulation, four players had four fouls. At the end of the day nothing changes for Dburg. Next game is at home and the next two are win or go home. If they were going to lose a game, it needed to be last night. Westview, Dyersburg, and either FW/SS in the same half of the bracket!? Going to be some good basketball over the next couple of weeks! Bkbfan4ever
I believe Westview could beat FW or SS which would lead to a rematch vs Dyersburg
tnrazrbac
FW has nothing to prove because the ineligible kid was not an impact player. So they didnt lose anything major i really meant that TSSAA just gave FW another reason to play even harder. but that being said should be a great game tonight. I am looking forward to some different match ups on SAT.
