2. The team who plays the greatest

3. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams winning 50 percent or more of their games.

If Dyer County beats Lexington, the Choctaws are in the playoffs. Both teams would have 3 region losses, DC will have the tiebreaker.

If that happens, Lexington would need Chester County beat North Side on next Friday. If that happens, North Side is eliminated.

Overall, the Indians should have won Friday's game at Haywood. Their long snapper made awful snaps and it gave Haywood 7 points about 100 yards total of field advantage. It killed North Side to death, also, a costly roughing the punter in the 4th quarter burst their chances of coming back.

Not entirely true...If DC beats Lexington then that knocks Lexington out of the playoffs, True

But if Chester County beats Northside, that moves Hardin County to #2, and then you end up with a 3-way tie for 3rd...in that instance, Lexington beat Northside, Northside beat DC, and DC beat Lexington, so you cant distinguish who gets what from that...

Now lets look at their overal record if that happened...Northside (6-4) , (Lexington 7-3) , DC (6-4)

That means Lexington will get the 3 seed....now you have a tie between Northside and Dyer County, and since Dyer County was defeated by Northside, that puts Northside as the #4 seed and eliminates Dyer County

Forgot about that, you're absolutely right. Just don't think Chester has what it takes to beat North Side. The Eagles program is kind of in a stalling motion.

Sounding/reading like Haywood is taking the "be disciplined and out-athlete the other team" appraoch.

So Lexington/Dyer Co. are playing for the de facto 4th playoff spot Friday night.

Assuming all other games other than this one go as expected -

Lexington wins and I think final standings would be

1. Haywood

2. Lexington (overall record then beat NS)

3. Northside (overall record then lost to Lexington)

4. Hardin Co. (worsr overall record)

If Dyer Co wins -

1. Haywood

2. Northside (beat Hardin Co.)

3. Hardin Co

4. Dyer Co.

Considering the Top 2 from Region 8 in-state losses have come from 2 6A and a Super 7 team with a combined record of 24-0, I'd say it would behoove teams to not have to play them in the first round. My guess is Ridgeway wins Region 8 and East comes in #2.

Dyer County has really good chance on winning Friday night. The quarterback got hurt Friday night and broke a couple of ribs. That's the only downfall! Dyer County will have a big crowd and student section traveling like always.
