Region 4-4a

Recommended Posts

Region 4 goes outside the Region and all on the road except for Giles: The Big Tuna thinks tonight will have rocky seas for Region 4, the wind will be blowing and the waves choppy several of our teams could come home without a catch!!!

Kenwood at Giles Co.  35-21 Giles

Marshall Co at Straford: This has the makings of a close game; the Big Tuna doesn't feel good about this game but I'm going with Marshall Co 31-28

Tullahoma at Lincoln Co: Lincoln 24-14

Page at BGA: BGA 35-21

Lawrence Co at Loretto: Lawrence Co 35-14

Spring Hill (Bye)

Looks like Page will be leaving next year for 5A football so Region 4 4A will look a little different!!!

Congrats to Giles County, Lawrence County, and Page for their big wins last night!

Next week Region action returns with a major game between Spring Hill and Giles:

Page at Tullahoma: Page 31-14 Page may start slow in this game after their big win over BGA the school that is the oldest private school in Williamson County. So congrats to Page for winning the recruiting battle this year and the game!!!!

Marshall County at Lawrence County: Marshall County 49-7 Sorry Lawrence County but Marshall is going to be mad after the lost to Stratford!!!

Giles County at Spring Hill: This game is the must see game this week, Spring Hill will have 2 weeks to prepare and heal up for Giles. Giles is getting better each week; if both teams are evenly matched then turnovers are the difference maker! So good luck to both teams and stay healthy we need you in the playoffs. Score will be 29-28 somebody goes for 2.

Each week the Big Tuna goes fishing for the stories about what is happening around the state in high school football; this week and for weeks to come it is going to be about what the Regions will look like in Football for the next 4 years. The numbers are in and TSSAA is waiting on the Privates to declare for Division II so that the 6 classifications can be determined. After that all teams will be given 2 weeks to move up a classification then the Regions will be decided in November. So between now and then, everyone will be making their predictions on which Region they will be in. Happy Fishing to all!

If they end up in 3A, can a team bump up two classes? I thought you could only play up one class and if there was a team in that class wanting to move down.

I am assuming he was joking but yes a school could choose to move up 2 classes. There was a rule that if enrollment plus multiplier made an enrollment jump then the the school would only be made to move up 1 class. I believe that rule is no longer in effect.

I believe you are incorrect. You have to petition the tssaa to move up 1 class but cant move up 2. The multiplier that is added to privates now prohibits against moving a school up more than one class due to the 1.8 multiplier. That might have changed with the new rules if a private decides to stay D1

Hmmm....I wish someone that new for sure could answer. Doesn't make sense why they wouldn't let a school make the decision that it feels is best for them.

    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
