Milan in a big way. That I know of Dresden only has only player that was at Martin in middle school. He came to Dresden as a freshman but didn't play football until his sophomore year. Big kid and plays on the line. Not sure what has happened at Westview to be honest. Really think Goodyear leaving UC had something to do with it. JMO

I know of a couple freshman that played at Martin at some point that are now at Dresden as well as the senior you're talking about. Westview is very young. Most of their skilled players are sophomores & won a state championship in middle school. Seems to me that the new head coach might play a part as well. Still no definite quarter back to get the kids in a groove of playing together. After watching my Lions play Milan in the jamboree & Westview in week 0, I expect Milan to win big over Martin. Running clock 2nd half.

Good question coach. Don't know what the deal is.

I've never understood why Milan...with a population of 7800 is in 3A and Union City...with a population of 10,700 is in 1A.....I realize it's goes by high school enrollment but those numbers don't make sense....Dyersburg pop...17,000....Martin pop....11,300....but they're both in the same region/classification as Milan?.....just wondering....

Open zone in Dyer County. Dburg only has around 800 students and Dyer County is up around 1250. Im sure all the students in Milan go to Milan while a lot of students in Dyersburg go to Dyer County.

Don't know about Martin but I would say dyersburg and union city are both because there is a much larger county school just down the road.

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
