I have heard good things about Lee's recruiting as well.  With the increase in the skill level of today's players versus twenty years ago, many of the smaller schools are fielding competitive squads.

its not where it was when Matt had the helm, but its surely above par......beautiful campus.....sure would have been more convenient on Family of Boogers if Boogerette eye would have let her settle there....

Booger just sayin:D

Good, up and coming, program.  He should have them rolling soon.

theyve been up and coming for a long time;and at the top of their conference for most of the time since the 90's... have played good soccer for a long time...last 2 seasons the previous coach fell asleep and the time of 1 coach coaching boys and girls both, out run him and the school....beauitiful shchool with lots of money, great facitlities and the best dorms in the south (without questions)...they probably should have brought the system up to 2 different coaches before it got in a bond the last 2 years........no doubt Sean Fraser will turn this thing around immediately.....thinking they were 9-1 in the spring agianst some good programs thruout KY and VA...for whatever thats worth....its sure created some good buzz after the last 2 seasons....specially as they work to transition towards D1

When are they moving to D1? Are the scheduling any D1 teams this year? Do they return alot of players from last years 3 win team? They've had 3 winning records in the past 7 years so the trend appears to have been downward for years? Seems they have a good new coach from what you guys have said though.

I'm just wondering what are they doing to prepare for D1 play every week? Is there a different focus on recruiting? You had mentioned you knew about the 2019 verbal commitment from Knoxville so that's why I am asking about recruiting?

yes, last 2 years havent been too productive at LMU for sure and douybtfull that trend continues; even it unfortunately does; theyre takin care of Boogers pocket........but it ant as far down in the dumps as UTC yet and they got Fraser in there before it sunk to that level....and thank goodness LMU hasnt gone D1 yet....D1 is like Goat cheese......its way over-rated and the talent level at a lot of those D1 schools are over-rated...it sure doesn't mean you can play soccer....that system, 32 man rosters, and travel is for parents with bigger egos and eys than their daughters abilty can handle...thats why most quit and come home

...when you get them quoting records and history....means one less person that can say....never heard of em, or dont know much about em..... Booger Plan is working

Good stuff! I had never heard of that school until you mentioned it.

The UTC comparison is spot on. Hiring Gavin was a brilliant move and he's increased the talent level there significantly. Still needs to upgrade their facilities to match the schools he's recruiting against though.

One question though is if D1 is not good why change? Seems like being a lower level school with a decent history of winning they wouldn't feel the need to change? I know as a parent it would be neat to see my child(ren) playing on the SEC network or ESPN/2/3 but that's not a factor in the decision making process. Ours seems to want a larger school that fits her and those are all D1 at the moment.

Oh, I forgot to mention it but I agree about the talent for the most part being good at D2 schools too. However, the top players that we have seen that stand out in the ECNL or against top regional events usually attend P5 D1 schools. There are kids on the team that filter down to other schools but very few play D2 or lower unless it's an Ivy league school or similar academic school. The best and most talented players are vastly populating the D1 schools. Even Moody at USA from Carson Newman has seen how much more talent he'll need to succeed moving from D2 to a top 40 D1 program.

Clubs seem to push D1 for appearance purposes and kids/parents go along with it. Probably a big reason why the transfer and dropout rates are so high.

didnt say D1 wernt no good...said it was over-rated......it is a 100% quarontee that the D1 experience is no better than a D2 when it comes to a student athletes experience.....not sure the #1 reason for LMU decision to entertain D1, cause a school who chooses to not field a football program, it is more likely trying to focus on new conference alignments....just glad it ant happenin on Boogerettes watch.....we had plenty of D1 entetainment and at not one time was there a discussion that D1 should be the choice because it a bigger feather in the cap.....it was all about the best opportunity for success on the soccer field and in her career choice

kinda like the same reason we never fell into that ODP trap....it wasnt an item that was needed on the resume to get opportnuities to get where she needed to go.....and we sure werent going to waste the money and travel in order to creat this false narrative....she had 4 girls on her team at one time that traveled back and forth to knoxville and Nashville to get that ODP tab.....only one of them had solid opportunities to play college soccer, but there were no D1 offers so they snubbed that "we're better than that nose" at all the other schools and chose to not to play college soccer....stinkin thinkin...its all about success and not coming home after the first semester and thats why Booger loves him some Railsplitters

and yes UTC needs to upgrade those facilities and hope Gavin gets to to see it done; but UTC ant doin it no time soon.....LMU's athletic dorms and facilties; minus Finley stadium makes UTCs look like a kindygarden program....but those amnities those athletes get up there in Harrogate are above most, anywho...and LMU ant no D1 school...its a D2 private higher academic institution with higher academic standards that make those preppy over-rated ivy league schools look like the hamilton county corrections

I was unaware LMU was a higher level academic program than the Ivy league schools.  If true, that is good stuff.  Their coaching hire seems like a slam dunk, though.  Like McKinney at UTC, it is not likely he will be there long if he gets things turned around.  It is all about upward mobility at the lower levels.  Although many may not see much difference between D1 and D2, the coaches sure do.  From Moodie at Carson Newman to McKinney at Cumberland College, no one stays at the lower levels when given a better opportunity.
